I am not sure from what you have written what your underlying motivation is for wanting hormones. If it is to have sex looking like a woman, then I would like to suggest that you talk things through with a qualified gender specialist, because there are long-lasting consequences to hormone therapy that you may not like if you are not transsexual. Please forgive me if I have misunderstood.

I think that it is also important to note that at our time of life (I am only 3 years younger than you) the hormones are unlikely to make our bodies look like we are Hollywood starlets.

Your age should not be a barrier to starting the therapy, but your heart condition may cause your doctors some concerns as they will need to be very careful about how they combine the different treatments.

Age itself is no barrier, but the affects can be. If you have heart probs or the like, then HRT can be very dangerous.
