Hi all,
I was off work yesterday, so I took the time and shaved my legs. After I was all smooth, I decided it was time for another trip to the mall. Around last Christmas, I made a few trips to the mall in hose and shorts. One time, I did my Christmas shopping wearing keds with my hose and shorts.
I have since gone out on a few morning or night walks in the area in all women's clothes including nude hose and black shorts, black ladies casual shoes and a white blouse. No makeup or wig. I did this twice with a black skirt instead of the shorts. In these morning and evening outings, I am typically avoiding direct contact with people.
Well, yesterday I went to the mall. I wore my black shorts, white blouse, ... outfit. Besides this outfit, I just have a skirt, a dress, some khaki pants and another pair of shoes (heels). I don't need a lot to keep me happy. I put on some brand new nude Leggs Active Support. New hose feel sooo good! I went to a mall that is far enough away from my home that I could expect not to ever see anyone I meet there again. It was in a community that is mostly black. For some reason, this is a fear of mine. I fear that young black men will see me and loudly point me out. Maybe a group of a few young black women might do the same. I don't have this fear about any other race. Well, I didn't see any teenagers because I went during school hours, but none of the people, young or old, reacted differently than any other race. Maybe my fears were all unfounded.
I went in through an anchor store. It was more crowded than I expected. But, as usual, no one noticed. Typically, no one has ever noticed my clothes were anything other than ordinary. My legs must not draw much attention either. I went to one store and shopped around. I tried on several pairs of shoes. The store had a lot of size 12 and 13 ladies shoes. There was another lady shopping beside me and she paid me little attention. I think I noticed her looking down at my legs a few times. I finished looking at the shoes and then I went to the clothes area. I picked out a skirt and asked the clerk if I could try it on. She seemed a little awkward about things, but was professional and helped me. She couldn't have been over 19. I tried on the skirt with a couple blouses. Then I stepped out of the changing room and proceeded to return the merchandise to the shelves. A lady shopping in the store saw me come out of the room with the skirt in my hands. No real reaction.
I went from there and was stopped by one of those high pressure sales people at a kiosk that sells hand stuff. There were two young girls at the kiosk. One makes eye contact and starts to try to reel me in. The other looks at my outfit and notices. Again, she only seems to look down at my legs or shoes. I think the shoes may have looked a little unusual for a man. They aren't all that odd looking, but men don't commonly wear shoes like that without socks and never with shorts. Anyhow, the hand girl makes her sales pitch to me and is flirting with my hand and blah blah... The other girl keeps walking back and forth on the other side and facing our direction when the kiosk wasn't between us. I suppose she was getting a few good looks. That's what I would do. I turn down her offer, her counter offer, and her guilty pressure tactics on how my wife deserves to be pampered... I walk away. The other girl goes straight to my sales girl and tells her. I look back and they are both looking hard at me. My sales girl expression was like that of someone watching a car wreck. It was hilarious!
I tried on clothes at a few different stores. I saw nothing that I needed or wanted. Then I made it to a payless shoes store. I love payless. They always have shoes big enough for me. They are always very helpful and understanding. I go to the isle and there is a 21-22 year old girl there trying on size 12 shoes. I decide not to let that slow me down. I start looking at shoes. The girl pays me no attention. Then I select a pair and I sit down 6 feet away from her. I put on the shoes and walk down the isle to a mirror. She isn't watching. I go back and put the shoes on the rack and keep looking. I tried on several pairs before the girl finished and left. I kept looking. Then the clerk comes up to help. She was probably 20. She had such a sweet smile and personality. I wanted to hug her for being so nice to me. I later wished I had bought some shoes from her just because of her personality. (I didn't find what I was looking for.) She helped me. Eventually she noticed my hose. I don't think she noticed anything odd about my outfit, but it wasn't all that odd. I asked if they get a lot of guys. She said "Well... some, but normally they are all dressed up." I told her all of mine were ladies. My legs looked good in those lights! I tried on some more, including boots, and then left.
I shopped around a few more stores, trying on, and then went to the food court for lunch. I stood in line at Subway with my back to the diners for a long time. Eventually, I took my food and headed to eat. No one seemed to pay me any attention. I sat and ate. One lady walked by with her son and she seemed to notice. She later sat nearby and took a few more looks. I finished eating and got up. An older woman a few tables over noticed my outfit and she gave me the evil eye. Man, it was fierce. And she didn't break it. She stared me down even when I looked at her. Feisty woman...
I went to my car after this, and went home. Over all, several people noticed. I think they noticed my shoes. This never happened when I wore shorts and keds. It was so much fun to be out. I might do it again soon!
