This is a question for those of you who have gone the Mrs. Doubtfire route of going to man to woman in a bathroom. When you choose to do it, where are your women's clothes? Second, does your wig still seem fine when you put it on? Third, how long does it take to put on enough makeup to pass? Fourth, where do you then keep your man clothes? I've never done a bathroom transformation before (except in my own) and since I'm a student, my only guess for questions one and four would be in a backpack

When ever I do a quick gender change I carry my fem clothing in a PC sized sholder bag along with makeup and shoes and hair. I use the unisex or family restrooms. I always totally under dress before getting there. Total time including makeup is 15 minutes. Sometimes I'll finish makeup and put on jewelry in the car. I turn my wig inside out and its always fine. Just reverse, shake it out and put it on..... Male clothes replace the female ones in the shoulder bad. I've changed anywhere from sporting facilities to hospitals to rest area to porta-potties!! The handy cap porty-potties are way better than the regular one. Lol. I take just what I need for the transformation and nothing more!

For those of us who are shapeshifters, the time to change from girl to boy is often critical, and may determine how far you go.

I've done it a couple of times in someone's motel room bathroom and another's condo bedroom/bath.!I couldn't do it in a public restroom, tho!

1. I carried everything in a trash bag and individual items in smaller bags.
2. I store ALL my wigs in individual plastic bags anyway. No damage yet!
3. It normally takes me 10 seconds to put on my "face"! Make up, about 5 minutes! (It looks it, too!)
4. The trash bag holds everything I took off, too!

I don't fully understand the question. More to the point of why the quick change in a public bathroom.
I travel a lot and change once I get into the hotel room. When I travel light, I keep everything in a backpack with lots of pockets. The fastest I can do my makeup and look OK is 15 minutes. 30 would be better and to do a very good jobs would be about and hour. I keep my wigs in bags of different colors so I know which is which.
There have been times when I've left the room as Kimmy but took my male clothes with me in case something comes up and I have to change back before I return to the room.

There are some great ideas here. What I used to do was under dress enough so I finish the change in the car fairly easy. I would have most of my makeup on (like foundation and eye shadow) hidden with sun glasses and finish my face in the car as well. I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore, now days I just do everything at home before going out.

I'm a shapeshifter. I'm about 5'6" (1.68m) tall, I've had laser treatments on my facial hair, I have long hair and acrylic nais.

I won't walk into a women's restroom unless I'm already 2/3 of the way to being perceived as a woman. Here's how I do it. I've done a close shave before I left my home or hotel room, I wear casual pants and shoes and something loose like an oversized sweatshirt. I have a bra (maybe with forms, maybe not), hairbrush, and makeup in my purse which can also look like a travel bag.

Obviously carrying my purse (a great prop), I walk into the ladies' room like I belong there (easy, since I feel I do belong there) and head directly for a stall (sometimes stuck in line, that happens) and sit down. Use the facilities while I am slipping my bra (and forms if I feel I need them) on under my top. Flush, pull everything together, and remove my headband, letting my hair free. I usually also switch my watch. Other than my watch and hairband, there is nothing to go back into my purse.

Head for the sink, wash up, and proceed to apply simple makeup (no foundation, but maybe some eyeshadow and mascara) and comb out my hair.

Done.

Going from girl to androgynous boy is pretty much the process in reverse, done in the ladies' room since I don't change my feminine motions and posture and don't turn my purse back into a travel bag until I exit the restroom.

I can also go from androgynous boy to girl while walking down the aisle of a clothing store, heading for the dressing rooms, but that is another story.

Since I'm one of those special cases where it is easy for me to switch, I don't know if that will help you. I can only tell you what I do. Your individual milage may vary by quite a bit.

Hugs,
Persephone.

I don't know about you, but it takes me well over an hour of concentrated work to change, with a lot of walking around, collecting stuff I forgot bring to the bathroom (where I do most of the work because of the favourable combination of mirror and natural light). So trying to pull a 'Superman' (let's call that a "Superma'am") is totally out of the question for me. I guess it's technically possible, especially if you don't have to put on beard cover and all that crap. However, the question remains: why would you want to? There must not be many situations where a quick botch job is preferable to taking your time and getting it right.

All I've ever done is to get mostly dressed with male clothes to cover up, then change in the car in a parking lot. I just recently found a "family" restroom in a local mall and when I went in to check it out, I came out and there was a family with two small children waiting to use it. I can't imagine and don't think it would be fair to tie it up for twenty minutes or so.

As for going into a store and using theirs, I think carrying stuff in and then coming out in a "disguise" would attract suspicion at the very least. Suspicion of shoplifting.

Years ago I had a full size "camper" van. Now that would have been ideal for changing.

If you have a car, I fail to see the advantage of using a public restroom that can't be locked, which is most often the case. There's no way I would stand at the sink/mirror for 20 minutes with people coming and going, and using a stall just seems really uncomfortable and inconvenient. Also, unless you are one of the lucky few, I would do a reality check on the whole "enough makeup to pass" thing. Just sayin'.
