OK, i have no problem at all with anyones beliefs whatever their religion just recently i've found quite a few sites where CDs themselves force themselves to stop dressing because it's a sin (apparently). There must be religious CDs on this site so i'm wondering what your take is on the whole thing?

Andria I don't think we can talk religion on this board. But the only reference to CDing in the Bible (that I know of) is Cding can not be used to to get out of the army. Meaning some men may have tried that.

Marleena: My bad just i read quite alot last night and was just quite shocked that people would completely deny themselves for something they don't even know truly exists. I was christened at birth and I've read a fair amount of the bible and 1 of the reason i don't like it is becuase it's very sexist but i am open the all things, not jsut one.

Nathalie: lmao love the lego =P and ye it always seems to be CDs who get all the trouble yet women wear "mens" clothes. At the end of the day clothes are clothes. It jsut becomes labeled

I'll tread very lightly and hope to not violate the site standards, but speak also as a past church elder. Many of the beliefs in our religions come from multiple sources, including the sayings of the originator of our faith the extensions of those sayings by early followers, the interpretations of others over the century, and the tribal beliefs of our societies. One would be hard pressed to find prohibitions against crossdressing in any of the original sayings, or even in the early interpretations. Where such prohibitions can be found, they're often in early writings that were shaped by the tribal traditions of the writers - and surrounded by many other prohibitions that we wouldn't even consider obeying. Still, many of our religious leaders claim their own divine right to condemn many variant practices based on their own tribal traditions, and then attempt to justify them using obscure references to ancient writings that are otherwise considered irrelevant. We must each decide for ourselves how much regard we want to give such teachings, and balance that against what we know in our hearts.

I just posted this link in another thread. http://www.beki.org/crossdress.html

It cuts through a lot of the BS on Deuteronomy 22:5.

Normally this thread would be deleted, however, I'm leaving it on the board, but closed
