My GYN just scheduled me for my third Mammogram. Yippy me!

I thought they would hurt like you could not believe but mine have not.

The technician has been reassuring, professional, and discreet.

B/4 I became a woman, I had these visions of Mammograms being akin to the torture dungeons of the Medieval Period.

Plus I had this thought that "men" were also Mammogram technicians. Thank goodness I was wrong about that.

Huh! I just thought of something. Now that I am taking a progesterone, I wonder when the clamps come down on my boob if milk will squirt out (lol). Wish me luck.

Yeah... if you're anything like me, you might make a mess lol!

Traci,

I get a mammogram once a year. It's a rather good idea since cancer runs in my family.

I was at the doctor yesterday for a physical. I've just started with a new medical plan. Imagine my delight when I was asked when I had my last mammogram.

Had one. It was ok. I mean it was not pleasant but at the same time it was not terrible. Rather have a mamo or pap than go to the dentist anyday.

By the way Tracy what did ya think of the jewlery they use?

*SHUDDER* How dare you use the D-word here!

I haven't been to the dentist in years... Teeth have been fine so far!

Every year like clockwork. They are not the most comfortable thing but what medical test is?

Whoever uses that word needs to be excommunicated from this site for life! That is one phobia that I do have. It takes Xanax, laughing gas, itouch with music set on the highest volume as well as my gums rubbed with a numbing agent before "that person" even attempt to get three feet near me with a needle!

I don't even know why they put a gown on me, they have it hanging down to the ground for each side they take. Since I have a lot of breast tissue they have to take EXTRA photos like from my underarm grabbing the top side of my breast. The one thing that is cool is that where I go, they do it digitally on their computer and they let me look at the pictures. WOW! I never realized how much mammary material I had within my breasts and how large my mammary disk is. That part is really cool even though this is really serious business.

Yea but what about the jewlery they use. Surely you know what I am talking about.

I had my first mamogram last August. No one batted an eye when I came through.

Actually I have no idea what you are talking about.

Hmmmmm. Well when I had mine they put these little stick on metal balls right over the top of my nipples. They were about the size of a BB for a BB gun. Apparently they are used as a reference point of some sorts. So they did not use these for your mamo?
