K, so I started HRT a few weeks back, now can I expect at some point in time get a little bit of smelling like a woman? This is one of the things that really matters to me quite a bit. If this is not so, what do I need to get done? It really does not cut it for me to shower in JPG women's perfume all day.

It's difficult to say when you will start having the scent of a woman or even if you notice the scent. I have been on HRT for 6 months and all I notice is I no longer have the stinky "man smell". I don't notice any scent of a woman.

The change in smell was basically the first thing I experienced. It took place about a month into taking the hormones. The other really strange thing that I experienced was a recurring estrogen taste in my mouth that would come and go throughout the day. This sensation lasted a couple months and has never come back since. Cant explain that one.

Personally I don't like perfume it gives me a headache, I like essential oils lavender and jasmine are my favorites! Most of the time i dont wear anything but if i wear a tank top i need deodorant. I went from having a smell to not having a smell at least on any average day. This will sound weird but I used to like my smell as a guy not like if I was working out heavily but just on an ordinary day, it wasn't strong but it was distinct, my wife liked it too. I really don't have a smell now most of the time but the few times I have stunk I didn't like the smell. IDK maybe its the female pheromones, they just dont do it for me, I kinda like my BFs smell though.

Johanna,

Your scent will change over time using HRT.
A few weeks will need to at least turn into a few months to half a year to really see any sort of change in that category.
In terms of HRT a few weeks is more like a few minutes in terms of HRT intake.
Allow time.

Julia, I was a little confused by that last posting until I realised whom you meant was johanna.kitten. I (JohannaH) agree that it takes awhile for the body scent to change. In my case it changed from a strong male scent to a slight hard to describe scent (in the absence of external scents).

SMELL? Yuck! Who would ask about smells? But yes if you have to ask, I have gone from a musk smell to a sweet smell. Bit I normally don't make a habit of smelling my underarms or crotch.

Traci,

Now that you mention it the odor I have is a sweet smell, but it is quite faint.

For a small number of us, the odour change we undergo can be an unpleasant one (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?164559-body-odour-change)

Other than what I described in the referenced thread, I have not noticed any change. Maybe the acrid smell of my underarms is not as strong, but it could just be that I am doing less physical activity. Nothing "sweet", alas.

Well dear me. This is one thing that I had never thought about with hormones, but it does make sense or is that "scents".:D

Julia,

I know I just a newbei when it comes to the hormones, but one has to start somewhere... I got my on the the right track thanks to Katie here. Really, I was hoping to smell like a woman, this is something I always wanted, perhaps it was what first set me off thinking about all this cd/ts stuff long time ago - pre-teens, just helping myself to all girlie stuff that were kicking about, and finding it had this nice smell.

I just can't wait for changes to happen. These days shopping is a way of life and I can't pass by a shop without getting my dirty little paws on a bottle of JPG. Airports are the worst! Not to mention Harrods and Selfridges over here in London.
