View Full Version : Have you been crossdressing for over 50 years?

I started wearing my sisters panties at age 6, and kept going from there. As I got older I wore much more feminine things. When I got married in my early 20's my wife was totally supportive of my CD'ing activities. I did completely stop for a 5 year period because I thought it was best for my family at the time. I started again because my dear wife begged me to. She missed Stephanie in her life! I am now 79 and still crossdressing!

So my question to this forum is; how many of you older CD's have been crossdressing for at least 50 years?? Maybe not continuosly, but at least most of the time! Even if you just underdress, that would still count! I am sure that I am not the oldest CD on this forum, and probably have not been a CD the longest!

Let me hear from you!!

I am 67 and have been crossdressing probably since I was 5 or so

I'm 68, and started dressing at around 6, at least the first I remember. Fighting for normalcy during my time in service, and the start of a couple of marriages, I purged and tried to stop, did at times for a few years at a time, but the desire, always came back, and I never found happiness, until I learned to stop fighting it, and learned to live with it.

I am 65 tomorrow, and have had the desire to wear fem clothes for as long as I can
remember. My first was my mothers girdles, at age 4 or 5.

Not quite, but its getting close...gimme a couple of years! I honestly can't remember how old I was - but perhaps no more than 4 years of age when I first wore my big sister's slip. As an adult, I underdressed pretty much non-stop, and started dressing full time just a couple of years ago.

I am 69 and have been dressing since I was 8 or 9, and stillenjoy it.

I've been cross dressing off and on since I was 9 or 10, maybe slightly younger. That easily gives me 50 years.

Most of the earlier years were deep in the closet but I'm "out" now. It is a lot more pleasant and fun too. BTW, nothing remotely sexual involved now.

Cheers,

Currently 61 years young, and I started dressing as a lil girl when I was 7. Still love being the girl within my inner body. Veronnie2

I started in 1956, age 8, from that year until 1969 it was or or less a fairly regular thing, mostly when I was home alone, or very late at night. In 1969 I was married and from that year until her death in 2002 perhaps twice a month when she was away shopping or on long errands. After her death I underdressed and the then in 2003 I went full time for a few months, purged, but by 2004 I went 24/7 once again and I've lived as Katrina, Beyonce, and finally as Arlene ever since. I have always desired to live my adult life as a female.

First time was around age 7, then started again in my teens. Off and on ever since (lately more on than off). I'm 63, so, yes, more than 50 years.

Most certainly, I have been a crossdresser for well over half a century. Fifty years ago I was fifteen and was frequently modelling bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses that my mother made. As I've mentioned before my mother got upset one day after she realised I looked better in a bridal gown than the girl for whom it was being built.

I was probably 8 or so when I tried on my first dress, a Brownie uniform. That would make it 50 years exactly!

I started around 4 as best I can remember. For a couple of years it was a battle with my parents every day over what I would wear. Even when my parents won, I learned to hide something underneath, in a pocket. When I started school it changed until I was 8 and it's been steady ever since. So that puts me over 60 years now and I love every minute and can't wait for the next time.

I dressed at maybe 5 or 6. Just once mind you. Then at 8, just once mind you. Then at 13...just once... a week, for kicks. I could quit anytime, it was recreational. Everyone did it right? Then I saw the ads, this is your son...this is your son in a dress. I had to give it up. I mean it could have been a gateway to worse things like....rock and roll, premarital sex, POOL! With a capital T and that goes with G and that stands for...um...something

Since I am only 34 years old now:heehee:I cannot join the 50 plus club. OK OK I am 56 (you know I had to stop and add that up) so technically I can be a junior member

Now that you mention it !
I started 50 years ago when I was six , I tried on one of my older sisters bras and have been dressing in some way , shape or form since then but it's only been the last ten or so years that I have accepted my dressing and my softer side as a positive part of who I am as a person , I sure wish it didn't take me so long to get to where I am today !

My earliest memories are as a 4 y.o. in 1960, maybe a bit earlier too ! I'd often play with the two slightly older girls next door and was always dressing in their clothes. I've carried on from there and never stopped !

Don't know whether I get the grand prize but since I will be 87 in May I'm likely one if not the oldest. Except for military service and U Of P crew it has been mostly underdressing. Wish I could have spent much more time 24/7 but it was not to be (as I wrote in my memoirs). Sorry to say none of the pictures in my book are en femme---no excuse!

I put on my sisters panties from th laundry at age 12, now 63 so 50 years. Dressed secretly building up a wardrobe in my 20's then married for over 30 years hiding and purging. Separated for over 3 years and exploring my femme side and slowly coming out (not at work though).

I'm going to be sixty-five this year. I will discount my earliest recollections of wearing something feminine because I do not think there was any motivation to cross dress. However, my desire to try on my mother's nylon slips started when I was a single digit midget. My desire to actively seek out and wear women's clothing in full, i.e., panties, girdle, stockings, bra, slip and dress (plus really poor makeup jobs) started in my early teens. So to consciously be en femme is over fifty years. First wearing of a nylon floor length nightgown would make it almost sixty.

Darn, I wish I could have been born in the 1980's!!!!

Not quite 50 years here but only because I don't remember trying anything on in my early childhood years. I do remember admiring my mums clothing back then but I don't remember trying anything on until my early teens. That leaves me a bit shy of 50.

All kidding aside, I'm astonished at the ages some of you ladies are "claiming" to be, certainly beyond anything I would have guessed from your appearances! I've heard GGs complain that CDing takes ten years or so off a male, and from these postings and your photos I'd say that's quite a low estimate! For myself, I have clear memories of trying a few things no later than age three, and of course with increasing frequency in later years; so I am definitely in the 50 club with a further 10 year pin to spare!

I turned 80 yrs old last fall. Am now a married grandfather of six and still in the closet. Wow! Started wearing my Mom's lovely slips and petticoats at about age 8 or 9. Am enjoying CDing more than ever! I know it helps me stay young at heart and mind. I dress almost every day and I don't see stopping any time soon.

Yes, I'm another one in the over-50-years club. Started when I was 13. I have tried and enjoyed many styles from the late 1950s onwards but not after the 1980s after which the jeans/shorts/leggings etc styles had no appeal. I can still choose my period costume to suit my mood.

I figure I started at age 8 or 9 being infactuated with moms panties and bras (dang forgot to write that date down) this led me to privately wearing her things. So if my recolection is right I become a member of the 50 year long dressing club. Gosh I didn't know this group existed and I am happy to qualify.

Claire Cook
03-29-2012, 06:58 AM
Gee, I'm amazed at how many of us have had similar experiences. My mom first let me play dress up in a dress when I was 4 or 5, from then throughout my teen years I'd get into her closet whenever I could. (She didn't approve.) Then for about 12 years I stopped, started up again after I got married (with wife's OK). I'll be 69 in June and now dress happily for part of every day.

How about a name for the group?

You can add me to your 50's club also. I remember I was only 7 or 8 years old and use to sneak stuff out of the dirty cloths basket of my four year older sisters. My mom wore OBG with garters that I just loved to hook up to some nylons I had stashed under my dresser. Ya, I got caught one day while dress and recieved a good spanking which made me stop.....for a little while....right.
I don't dress much anymore but like to follow what the younger people are doing and wishing I would have had the internet when I was younger to know that something wasn't wrong with only me.

Started when I was 9 or 10 wearing my gradmothers black slip when I spent the night at her house. Will be 68 this summer and have continued to dress. The last 15 years have been the best as I can now dress for days, when my wife is gone, and not just for a few hours.

Technically yes I suppose. I'm almost 59, but don't know exact ages of wearing my first articles of mom's or sister's clothing. I remember mom catching me wearing panties that actually were doll's panties! I must have been 7 or 8. Then one halloween, without a costume, my mom had me wear my sister's coat. I must have been 11 or 12 when I tried on sister's dress. What a thrill that was!

As a child I had been dressed in girl's clothes a number of times. Had to wear my sister's panties and tees because my undies were 'dirty'. Was baptised at three and a half wearing a very frilly white dress (DANG! I don't remember that!) Was forced into my cousins clothes when about nine or ten because I got my clothes dirty (embarrassing, let me tell you), was used as a dress model by my mother for some dresses she was making for a girl cousin. I always had to wear all the approprite stuff underneath so the dress would fit right. I didn't question that. I really never wanted to cross dress on my own until fifth grade when I wore a colonial girl's dress that my older sister used a few years before that. Talking to some girls on the playground after that day it came up that I didn't know what it was like to wear a dress because I had pants on underneath. So I went home and tried that dress on without my pants on. I thought hmmmm.... I reported to the girls what I did. Once again I was challenged because I didn't wear a slip or girl's underwear. Went home and tried that. Neat! but I could've stopped then and there. Then it was brought up that women wore corsets at that time. Tried that also. It was then brought up that I didn't know what it was like to wear modern day clothes. Tried that a few times. When I put a panty girdle with nylons on and a straight skirt I was hooked and never looked back. CDing was never in my mind until that time.

I'm well past the 50 year mark dating from the era when 100% of women over 12-13 years old would not leave the house without stockings, seamed and gartered in those days. I had three sisters several years older. From age 7 or so, I would fish out their lattered stockings and old tattered garterbelts from the rubbish and wear them in the privacy of my room. The stockings and garter straps felt so wonderful on my legs-They still do.

I first started at age 11 in 1959 0r 1960 up until I joined the miliary.I stopped completely for 21 years until age 41 when I walked into the lingerie section at a Sears store. 2 bras 5 nylon panties and a full slip later I was back in the Pink Fog. From age 11-19 and age 40 til present age 62. So about 30+ years Of occasional or continual crossdressing.

Application for a 50 year badge

Well, a lady is cagey about her age, but let's just say that Julie Daum has only six months on me. For a beginning date, I guess it would be when as a Scout, I was envying (and privately imiitating) Girl Scout uniforms.
For the scientists among us, this thread is proving my hypothesis regarding XDing as an Automagic Age Reducer. (See the Mature Dressed XDers thread) Just look at the avatars, & other pictures from the girls on this thread.
And I hope the badge will be a neat brooch suitable for adornment on all occasions.

I started when I was about 4 or 5. I know it was before I was 6 because we moved before I turned 6. So I would have started in 1949, or there abouts. I think I qualify.

I'll be 65 soon and cannot remember a time when I did not dress. I would guess I was probably 5 or so. I remember wanting long hair at that age and being aware of my gender.

I do recall the first time. In fact, I have a photo, taken by my mother. I was just about 5 when I pulled on a pair of her panties, stockings and slipped into a pair of her open toed three inch heels. I walked out the back door of our home and pranced around the back yard. I will soon be 68. That photo use to haunt me, when family members would find it in an album. Now I am proud of the photo. I still fully dress when possible and underdress every day, panties and bra.

Yep...me too. Add me to the club. Started at 4 and just hit the 54th time around the sun on this rock so I guess that make it official. I can still remember that day looking at the dance dress at the neighborgirl's house and saying that'll look good on me. A week later I had my chance and wow did it feel great. As with others of this club, back in those days, I thought I was the only person in the world that was born this way.

I'm now amongst friends... yeha...

I'm not absolutely sure how old I was the first time -- there's a lot of my childhood I don't remember very well -- but I doubt I was over 10, and I'm 60 now (which amazes me--I feel like I've gone from barely past adolescence to geezer without any intervening adult or middle age stages -- so I guess it is half a century. Looks like there really is no cure.

I'm 60 and was dressing up when I was 3 or 4, if not earlier, so I've been at this for at least 56 years.

Okay, of all the stupid clubs, and crazy groups i have joined in my lifetime this groups of old fart CDers is the most wonderfull group that I could have ever wanted to be a member of. I hope that you all will accept my lifetime membership to the most fantastic groupe of people I have never met. I started at age 6 in my grandmothers dress, I was tall for my age, and even though i have fought the demons we all have faced I love who I am and have the utmost respect for all who face this challange with and open mine and a loving heart. Ha when i first joined this site I thought 60 was old, the way I see it I am still a young pup to a lot of you.LOL I love you all, and thank you for being who you are and what you beleive in. O K Count me in. 60+ and going strong. I still remember seeing Christen Jorgansen on a news clip that was showing at the Sat. afternoon movies. That's when I knew I was not the only one. Did meet her at a CD convention many years later. She was GREAT. Ruby

I slipped into my Mom's corset at age 5 and pranced out into the front yard of our home in Canmore, Alberta back in the summer of 1948 - much to her dismay. So, I claim membership in this exclusive club. Do we get our own forum now?

Yes I have.

The older I got, the Bolder I got!--------When I was a Teen, I WOULD Buy my own Girly Clothes. Lingerie, Foundations Stockings etc. I was nervious at the time, BUT, got a grip and DID it. I was NOT BREAKING the Law, Ya know. I did get some looks, comments as well as help! I totally enjoyed the late 50's up to the Mid 60's look.
WOW, I bought and wore the cutest Pink Pleated skirt with a soft pink sweater and an adorable gold neckless. Girdle, panties, Lovely, lacy Bra, sheer stockings all under my Gourgious Pink Half Slip that had about four inches of lace coming up form the Hem.
I just knew, without mention, how to smooth my skirt as I sat.

My first recollection of any sort of crossdressing was age 7 when a cousin (rest his soul) dared me to put on panties and a dress. I had three older sisters which which gave me ample opportunity to try on their clothes. I've been dressing on and off for most of my life, I'm 67 now and will continue to dress until my corpse is being covered with dirt.

Stephanie - what a devious and ingenious way to get us to admit how old we all are ;). I guess you realized that a "lady" never divulges her age, but when you dangle the right bait in front of her as you did, well...

That said, I'll 'fess up, too...64 next month, and my earliest recollection of my inclinations in this direction go back to about age 5 or 6. Struggled with it all my life, and finally mustered up the courage to go out in public en femme on a semi-regular basis about 5 years ago. The fact that my once very dark beard is almost all gray now greatly facilitated this step. I haven't looked back since, and every excursion out in public gets easier and more enjoyable than the last.

I really can't believe how many of the ladies on this forum not only responded, but are fellow "Boomers" as well. There are clearly a lot more of us out there than even we ever imagined, so maybe it's time to petition the AARP (or CARP in Canada) to set up a special chapter for us  :heehee: . There are already retirement residences targeted directly at gays and lesbians in existence now. Will our community be far behind? The stuff that dreams are made of... :daydreaming:

Yes, because I was doing it partially before 1958 when the family moved. My mother still had her pre-marriage undies which she no longer wore but were in the airing cupboard. Then there were her nylons, heels and makeup. Being still at school, pocket money did not run to wigs, if I was aware they existed. I remember it was a big blow when the undies suddenly disappeared. There was a gap then until I left school and got a job so could afford to start collecting things.

Soo glad to know that I'm not the only aged TV/TG/CD-whatever around. Started wearing my mother's lingerie when I was about 5 and it's been downhill ever since. Sometimes I've not dressed for fairly long periods but the desire always returns. It never leaves you. Anyway, I'm now reconciled to it and love every moment I spend as Alison - Retired lady of mature years, 66 in fact!

I guess I have, although in periods, not continuously. I remember buying a girdle from a 5 and 10 and a bra from a pharmacy rack when I couldn't have been more than about 15, and I'd been trying on my mother's clothes long before that.

I've been dressing as a girl since I was 5 years old, and just considered myself "one of the girls" until I was about 6 1/2 and a girl's mom got upset with me and ruined everything. I dressed secretly almost every day from that point on. I did stop dressing for 6 months from March of 1995 to September of 1995, as part of a leadership training program for Landmark Education. I blew away the records, statistics, and outperformed beyond all expectations, but when they insisted that I quit dressing forever, I declined their offer of a leadership position. During that 6 months, I gained over 50 lbs, and it started a cycle that eventually took me from 165 lbs to over 325 lbs. Even though I continued to dress pretty regularly, I didn't make public appearances, and went back into the closet, the privacy of my home, or apartment. Something I regret to this day.

I started dressing, and lost weight, and became more aesthetically aware, but I have a long way to get back. I've had a heart attack and a stroke, but when I get dressed, I feel like I'm 20 years old and beautiful again.

I just wish I had been able to share Debbie's Secret Life with others back in the 1970s, before I got married, had children, and got divorced. I might have found a woman who actually WANTED Debbie, or maybe, I would have had the support for transition.

For those of us who remember the 1960s and 1970s, it was a time when boys in dresses were assumed to be "draft dodgers" and were often turned into "targets" by athletic coaches who were charged with preparing as many boys as possible for the draft, war in Vietnam, and the extreme measures taken by the enemy (women often strapped babies to their backs, along with land mines and charged the fence with their AK-47s, so soldiers had to kill the mothers and the babies to keep compassionate would-be caretakers from setting off the mines by trying to move the babies out of the packs. The Claymore mines could kill everyone within 300 feet, and set off more mines.

In college, I went to an all-girl school, and there was more tolerance, but I was terrified that if the other kids found out, I might get beat up, lose my friends, or maybe even be kicked out of school.

I remember my mother taking me to her friend's children's clothing store and trying little girls bonnets on me at age 2. This was all thanks to my long curly blond hair. Following that it was regular visits to her closet and dresser whenever she wasn't home. Oh how I loved the feel of all of her silk and satin lingerie not to mention her soft lovely dresses and her high heeled shoes. My love for woman's clothing has never stopped and now at age 66 I am getting ready to begin living as Nicole full time and beginning my transition.
