For those living full time that are parents. How are you listed or designated as the childs parent or guardian?

I mean like, for a lot of things like with schools around here, you can only indicate father and mother or guardian. Same for things like sports teams, doctors and such.

I am listed as the father, of course, I am her dad.

But sometimes that gets a little weird, I got an email the other day from a teacher at my daughters school, sent to me as Dear Mr. Theresa XXXX

How do you try to make it less confusing and awkward?

Day by day! It depends on your school.. I just never felt lik going there and making a big deal aboutit, and I dealt with the strange stuff like forms...if I had to fill out a form, I put father, just like you

My own children were not allowed to see me until they were 18 due to a court order that I fought every day for 16 years. I have been the guardian for a few kids along the way though. I was addressed as Ms. or Miss.

We are listed as their parents, just like it says on their new birth certificates. My daughter's school knows she adopted, but that's all they know.:)
