Last night I was at Pizza Hut with my family enjoying some pizza. My sister looks at me and said, "Are you nails painted?" Before I could say a word my father jumps in saying that it was a treatment for nail biting. I used to bite my nails all the time. I agreed with him. My sister then said that my nails need trimmed since they are getting long.

I'm glad my father jumped in with an answer. There were children at the table and I didn't really want to discuss that side of my life at the time.

Nice save from your dad! And I'll have to remember that one. :)

Is your dad aware of the real reason? Sounds as though he has your back. Good for him.

I'm with Kim on that. Does he know? If he does that was really cool of him.

If Leanne is 35 years old I will venture a guess that dad knows. It would be difficult for a parent not to figure out some things in life about their child. It's cool he has your back and respects your inclination to keep your activities private.

So wonderful to have others who know and support you. Even better when they have a quick mind, cause moments like that are when the mind tends to draw a blank. Nice story.

Cool story. Cool dad!

My wife and I were at a restaurant last week, weather nice and pretty so we ate outside. A guy comes and sits down at a neighboring table and I notice he has black painted toenails, wearing flip-flops. A little 6 y.o. or so girl passing by his table goes "Mr, why do you color your nails?" He says "It keeps the nasty bugs off 'em."

"Oh"...She shrugged and walked off. :)

Seems like a perfectly good reason to me!

Time to come out to your sister, methinks.
