Hi, I have wanted to order some things from Newport News, Fredericks and other places online. I was wondering how discret is the packaging that thesse things come in? I know that Victoria's Secret is not discreet and I don't need my neighbors accidently recieving packages that are not for them. They also know that I have no girlfriend, so using that as an excuse is out of the question.

I hear you! I used to buy a lot of clothes and stuff on eBay. It did come in plain packaging but the trick was in getting to the mailbox before my parents did (sometimes it involved leaving high school).

But to address your question, I would call them and ask. Also, usually when you place the order the form will have an area for special instructions. I have used it to write "please use plain packaging" and they understand.

Why don't you have a "girlfriend"?

A lot depends on what people know about the packages you receive. Actually Victoria Secret is fairly discrete unless you know their approach. Their items come in a simple white (not pink) envelope with a return receipt labeled as VSL. Newport News says Newport News but nothing about women's clothes.

Hope that helps.

Most online stores have information about that...either in a F.A.Q. page, under shipping information or privacy policy. They will usually tell you if they ship discreetly or not :) .

Sindy,
Online stores know the score about shipping in plain packaging.
Your purchases won't have "this parcel contains a bra and a pair of panties and they're for him! " written in large pink letters on them !
Check out the shipping details when you order.
Relax!
Happy shopping.

Yar! Like Angela says... Every company like Fredericks are fully aware they sell to people who need things done discreetly... :) Private sellers, like on eBay, are a different kettle of wax... some are very savvy about such matters, and then there's the occasional oblivious idiot.

Anyway, why wonder?? Just ask them!! Every Website you order from has a 'Support' or 'Help' or 'Shipping Policies' or 'Contact Us' link... what else would they be there for??

Thank you for all the replys, very helpful. I hope I don't max out to many credit cards...lol. And Maria, on a more serious note, the reason I don't have a girlfriend is just that I am one of those guys that seems to constantly get the "You're a nice guy..." speech.

I will never forget ordering a wig for the first time...no way I wanted THAT coming to the house, so I had it sent to my office instead. I used the USPS tracking info to figure out exactly when it would be delivered, and I made sure I was there to sort the mail that day. I got the package and no one noticed. (Awful wig, by the way...everything about it was wrong.)

About a month later, one of my co-workers was sorting the mail and she suddently called to me across the office, "Anything you want to tell us about?" as she held up my latest Paula Young catalog. My face must have been lipstick red...

I made some comment about winding up on the wrong mailing lists, and faking anger I called PY and told them to take me off their list.

Then, I went to Mail Boxes Etc. and leased myself a PO Box!!

PS: Be wise when ordering from 'CD Friendly' businesses...they tend to be discreet, but more often then not take advantage of us by overcharging!

With ebay you also run the risk of being outed with feedback:

"Excellent transaction--hope you enjoy your new panties!"
