Well I have not been to them myself, but the plethora of horror stories I got from other TS people about the way they behave and the nighmarishly long and pointless torture *ahem* "procedure" they go through was enough to convince me that I would go private no matter the cost!

Ask yourself how much a year of life as the woman you want to be is worth. How much would you pay to have another year as who you want to be? If you can patiently struggle through a few humiliating years as you jump through the CHX hoops rather than spend a few thousand pounds then that is great, personally I value every moment I can get of my new life.

Kate.

Although I went the private route. Many girls I know are going/went the Charring Cross route.
Whilst it has had a very bad press, It is my understanding things have improved vastly in recent times. With many girls being well pleased with the care and help they receive.

That is not to say things are perfect. No matter how good a place is there is always some room for improvement. The waiting period for appointments is long. Just go along there when you get your appointment in a positive frame of mind relax and enjoy moving forward on your chosen path.

I have only heard of the bad press this is my reason for posting in my search I have only come across the things that can go bad where one person had waited 5 years then took another 2 years before hormones would could be considered and another f to m was rejected because he had a friend on treatment.
You are the first bit of positive news I have received

thanks again

I have heard the same sort of stories, but, having not even entered into that route as I decided from the outset to go private I wouldn't have a clue if there is any truth in them. Hows that for sitting on the fence:thumbsup: .
