I am just a couple days away from 3 weeks on HRT and today my nipples are so sensitive as well as getting larger. I have been in a meeting most of the morning and the air conditioner is super cold in this room and I have two things that are telling me just how cold it really is.

Guess it is just part of the ride. Thought I'd share with you all!!!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of womanhood. :)

Mine were so bad at one point that I couldn't even let the shower directly hit them.

This too shall pass...

All The best.

P.S. Wait until your first mammogram. That's a real treat. (NOT!)

Jeri,

Yay!! Time to hang out your shingle that proclaims you a glass cutter. LOL!
Michaela is right by saying just wait until your mammogram.

The PA (a woman) at my last physical felt my breasts and a small mass under the nipples just and diagnosed it as Gynocomastia. She suggested that I should have a mammogram at some point. Cant wait...just sitting in the waiting room with the ladies looking at me frightens me.

Yup it doesn't take long. :)

I kind of miss those days, even the days where I would be sitting around at coffee at work with my shirt very obviously being held away from my body by the two points . At least back then they were actively growing, and back then I got "surprise" reminders of just that. Now they just "are", with no particular sensation, and too large to be male and too small to be female.

Myself, I'd be pretty nonchalant about, I'm sure. Other than being embarrassed about how much weight I should lose.

I remember during the first 3-6 months of hrt the sensitivity of my nipples driving me crazy! I bough a set of silicone "petals", which helped a lot

I'm not on HRT but I am on finasteride and we recently added a small dose of spiro. Pop! I now have than tender sensation and that mass under my nipples. I assume it is the start of gynocomastia and, of course, I'm delighted by that prospect! But I do worry that it could be "something else." I haven't really brought it up with my physician because she is medically very conservative and isn't treating me for TG/TS (the meds are for prostate and blood pressure) and I'm afraid she'll take my spiro away from me. I fought long and hard to get her to prescribe it in the first place and would be very upset if she took it away.

Should I be worried about my nipples and the achy mass?

Hugs,
Persephone.

P.S. Like Renee, I use silicone petals and they do help.

Call it what you want, Persephone, but you are on HRT!

LOL.

There is a difference in dosage for different purposes. The low dosage of spiro for HRT purposes is pretty much the same as the highest typical dosage for blood pressure purposes. Still, when one reads this particular sub-forum and just happens to fight to get on those particular meds...

Persephone, one of my (trans-specialty) doctors said that they were taught about gyno in connection with spiro in medical school -- that the way it was discovered for trans purposes was through the fair number of men who developed some gyno when on spiro. It is a well known side effect. It is not uncommon for nipple expansion to start after about 10 days of spiro even on introductory doses.

It seems that everyone responses different to HRT. I don't remember any really discomforts after I started HRT. I have been on HRT for about 9 months total now.
