View Full Version : Suggestions on where to go for a weekend as a girl?

I've been out in public dressed a couple of times and I'm looking to take a weekend away from home and spend it completely as a girl. I'm a very reserved person and I'll be by myself. I'm not really interested in clubs. I'd like to go shopping, maybe go to a show, have a nice dinner and just enjoy being out in the world as a girl.

Places I'm considering are San Francisco (I went out dressed in the Union Square area last year and loved it), Las Vegas, San Antonio (and the outlet mall near there) and the Mall of America but I welcome any suggestions you may have.

I'm actually looking for places that will have lots of people because I want to just blend in, which I did (kind of) when in San Francisco. Most people didn't even see me, and many of the clerks in the shops could tell I was a guy but smiled and were very friendly.

Thanks
Veronica

Anywhere you have never been, likely will never go back to and which has a high volume of people, so much so that no one can really fixate on observing any one person enough to notice you long enough to even see anything clearly. Where the shopping is good, the dining is nice and you can go check out some places like museums.

I think if I wanted to have a great girl weekend, I'd get on a bus, go to Toronto (in my case), rent a room for the weekend, and shop till I dropped, check out some great eating, and just enjoy being a girl with no reason to care about the people around me, because I'd never see them again, and they'd never see me again.

I think a weekend in Toronto would be worth more to me than a year as a girl daily around my small town.

That's exactly the thought I had. It was actually much easier to be out as a girl on the busy streets and stores of San Francisco than it was in a much less busy mall on a weeknight. People just didn't tend to notice me, so I was free to just be me. It was wonderful, probably one of the most wonderful experiences of my life.

I would revisit the city you felt most comfortable with. If you know the more acceptable locales within San Francisco and nobody acres, I'd stay with SF. The only time I have been to SF was in 1977. Back then I noticed cross dressers because O wanted to see as a cross dresser how good they looked, but, absolutely nobody gave them a glance or did a double take. They just blended in with the crowd and mind set of the general population.

Lots of good suggestions on your list, Vegas is fun if you like Vegas and used to everything. I have been in the casinos on the strip enfemme, no problems. Shopping is fantastic, both mainstream and outlet. another city to consider is chicago, I spent two and a half days enfemme, rode the El, makeup at the mac counter in Marshall Fields on Michigan ave and lots of shopping. Great city. Have fun, post pictures.

What about NYC, lots to do and plenty to see, and full of people. You have the theaters, museums, art gallery's, time square, and a large gay and trans community. You could spend weeks there and find plenty to do and never get near a club if you don't want to.

Vegas is my pick! Hit a few slots...see a few shows...take a few walks down the main drag. Sounds great to me!

Denver is close to you and has a very diverse and welcoming population. You can stay in the Capitol Hill area or Park Hill area and shop at Cherry Creek or Downtown. We have an excellent theater area. There are many bars and restaurants in the Capitol Hill area (Racine's, Hamburger Mary's, X-bar, Cherokee on 12th, Black Crown that I have been to). Come June 16-17th for Pride weekend and wander the park.

St Louis has a very open and welcoming LGBT community

San Francisco is expensive but the Castro is welcoming. Oakland actually has a very large LGBT community.
Vegas...meh. If you stay in the tourist areas like The Strip or Downtown it is OK (as well as the outlets). But remember Vegas is a Mormon based town so not all of the city is open
San Antonio? Don't have any idea.

Of course New York and LA have areas and Miami and Orlando are LGBT friendly in certain parts

Veronnica, Since your in Missuori, I agree that branson might be a nice place for you to go. Lots of people, lots of places to go, and a huge bargain shopping mall. You can preorder your show tickets, and just pick them up when you get to town. You will be able to do day and evening shows. Also there are many good places to eat. LOL, my name is also Veronnica.

Anywhere in manhattan (in my case atleast). New york is almost always full of people. Many crossdressers walk the streets (from my observations) and if anyone has a complaint they usually keep it to themselves.

South Beach, or maybe Coconut Grove. Or take a long day trip to Key West

I don't really care for Vegas, I find Elvis impersonators to be depressing. San Francisco is terrific, there are so many places to go. You may consider Seattle or Portland both are very tolerant cities with plenty of things to do.

I hadn't thought of Chicago but it sounds like it might be a good choice. Is the Magnificent Mile area cross dresser friendly. Any particular places in that area that you would suggest?

Thanks

Dallas has one of the largest transgender communities in the country. We have a very popular transgender rock band, and a very large TG group, posting meeting events several times a week. See meetup.com and search for Dallas feminine expression.
