When not traveling, I get to go out once a month. Usually, I'm really excited about it and can't wait for the night. Different story this time and I've been totally waffling on going out tomorrow.

Here are the circumstances -

1) I've got to get up at 3AM to hike up Pike's Peak with a big group.
2) We have a friend and her two young boys staying with us through Saturday morning that don't know.
3) My mom is flying in to stay with us for a few days and is arriving early Saturday.

So, what of it?

The hike should be a blast, but the question is will I be awake and mobile by the time it comes to get ready and go out. On this I think the answer is yes. Hopefully I can catch a nap in the car on the way back home.

My wife pans to take our daughter out to dinner and to a park (just like most months) and bring the friends along to give me time to get ready and get out of the house. She'll be my early warning when it's time to come home as well. What if I get noticed coming back in? I don't think it'd be the end of the world and it's really not worth changing on the side of the house with the hose or in the car. :heehee:

The last one is the big one. My mom is pretty observant and with the dress my wife picked out for me to wear I really need to shave my arms and legs. I have a feeling she'll pick up on it and since I also think she's got some decent clues over the years we'd probably have to talk. Am I ready for that?

I've been sitting on the proverbial fence for a few days trying to decide if I should go out. With my wife's encouragement and push of "You only get to do this once a month!" I think I'll go through with it. (Awake and mobile are pending) If the conversation with mom happens, so be it. I think we'd all get through it.

Stay tuned. If it happens, I'll tell you all about it!

Good luck Bree. I have been shaving my legs for a long time. Actually, most never notice. But you can always just wear long pants.
As for the arms. I just keep the hair very short. If mom notices she might not even say anything. If she does you can just say you were having some fun. Full disclosure is not needed.
Sounds like you have a plan. Just roll with it. :) Although, I doubt I could even move after doing Pikes Peak. lol
I would definitely like to know how it turns out.

But you can always just wear long pants..

If someone saw me with long pants on after groundhog's day... now that would draw attantion!

Interesting place to be - "on the fence"! Consider giving Bree another weekend, after mom and the friends have gone. IMO, although you have your accepting wife's encouragement to go out, especially when you may have to make excuses for enjoying your feminine side, trust your "gut" instinct to do what is comfortable and right for you. Thanx for sharing & please keep us posted as to you decision.

Go for it, shave your arms and if you're not ready for the conversation, wear a long sleeve shirt when your mom is around.

Put nair on your arms for a short time just to thin the hair out.
If you have a conversation with your mum, it's like another little trip in your life and when you recover it is all behind you.
All the best.

Well, I made it to the top of the mountain and out with the girls last night. Mom's here now and we'll see what happens. I'll put up some pics and a description of yesterday's adventures in a new thread.

Same here.

Go for it, shave your arms and if you're not ready for the conversation, wear a long sleeve shirt when your mom is around.

It's going to be around 90 for the next few days so t-shirts and shorts are the order of the day!
