I bought not one dress but two. On my way back from a job and stopped in Frankfort Ky at a goodwill store and finally got up the courage to look at the dresses. No one said a thing to me. No, I didnot ask to try them on before purchasing them.

When I saw the title of this thread, I though it was going to say something like "I bought not one dress but 50!" which is something I might do. (I believe in doing everything to excess.)

But seriously, Veroncia, congratulations. It gets a lot easier with practice.

Congrats, and if you need it, I will make a bet you will lose, and have to go shopping as payment. Anything to promote shopping.

"In for a penny. In for a pound." If you're going to feel awkward buying one dress, then you may as well buy an armload.

I bought my first skirt last week and I'm still heady over it. You begin to realize that no one really cares, they are busy looking for themselves or at their phones. Still, my heart was in my throat!

Be CAREFUL out there, Roni! Now that you've had a small taste of thrift dresses, etc., it's VERY EASY TO GET HOOKED ON THEM! I never bother to try them on either. I use a small tape measure to see if they'll fit!

Thanks all. Guess my courage was up because I knew that no one there would know me or family. Very small communities in Southern/Central Illinois. Can't wait for next trip through Ky or North to Chicago.

Warning, Warning, shopping can become additive, and expensive, it is also know to cause Euphoria, known as a pink fog, these can lead to going out in public, excessive shopping, and feeling very feminine. Pink fog is also known to upset wifes, and friends.
But Darn it feels so good!

I have passed the first piece of clothing I bought syndrome.
I do have to go out and sometimes buy out of NECESSITY.
Isn't that sad?:)
