once again I'm baffled as to why anyone would want to subject themselves to this sort of media attention. throughout the article they refer to her as a man and use male pronouns repeatedly, very insensitive!

What do you expect from the Chinese?
Not exactly a human rights haven. They routinely abort babies because they are female.

So do you also blame me for the tabloid story about me that went viral on the Internet? It proclaimed
He now sports a red wig and false boobs and no, I didn't give them permission to write about me, neither was I able to approve or criticise their choice of pronoun.
Papers don't give you the choice to suppress a story. Only the better ones even let you have a say in what they write about you (i.e. you tell them your story and watch them butcher your words).
This lady has had the courage in a very oppressive system to finally stop living a lie, please don't diss her for that.

I have ALWAYS said that the only time you are too old to transition is when you are in the grave!

There have been so many comments I've heard about how shameful it is that someone would transition, turn their backs on the TG community, and live a stealth life. If there was ever any question, its articles like this that make it very clear. I don't know why so many people put themselves out there and then get upset when they are misrepresented. You see it in the media all over the place. Here's a hint girls, I work for a news paper as an advertising account executive and my experience tells me Shocking stories = Readers, Readers = Advertisement $$$. Quite frankly that's all anyone in the media is concerned about. Social responsibility only extends as far as it is profitable. I'm fortunate that I work for a paper that is profitable because we write positive community pieces and have socially conscious publishers. However, I will take some of the credit for it being profitable :) I've been approached several times by different media outlets asking to do a story. I vehemently decline, because I know better!

First and foremost remember coming out is a personal choice unless you are outed by someone. You and I may not completely understand her reasons for finally coming out but she did and she is living her life as she wants too. This is all we ever want, to live our lives as we chose to. She is extreamly brave for coming out while living in a very oppressive system. Just a few short years ago she would have been drug out back and shot in the head. And it may still happen.
Fabulous, kudos to her!!!! And I must say, she looks great! It is never to late for love !

As usual, so touchy! I'm not blaming anyone for anything, I'm just baffled. This is clearly not a tabloid article and she SOUGHT OUT this attention allowing someone to interview her and use a photo of her. I couldn't care less what people choose to do I just don't understand why you'd want to make this journey any harder than it already is. I feel bad for her the article paints her in a bad light.
P.S. That is not your real hair?:heehee:

You know this how? The article about me in the tabloids was sold by a local paper after I was given the following choice
We are going to write a front-page article about your transition. You can give us your side of the story if you want so I allowed someone to interview me and use a photo of me obtained with permission rather than the one obtained without my permission. Yet according to you those two things would mean that I chose to have the article written about me.
If you are not blaming her for supposedly subjecting herself to this sort of publicity, what DO your words mean?
