Excuse me ma'am

I have been under the weather for a couple of weeks and this morning I woke up feeling like crap. All i wanted to do was curl up and veg out. Instead I had errands to run, packages to post. you know same old stuff. Normally I don't leave the house without my wig and makeup. Only this morning I just didn't feel much like effing with it so I just threw on a pair of jeans and a basic white T. No "nails" no makeup, no "hair", no boobs. Just wanted to get to the post office and get back.

So I'm driving along in my POS van with no air conditioning and stop at a light. My windows are down (did I mention no effing air?) and I hear "Ma'am?, Ma'am. excuse me Ma'am". I look to my left and the guy in the car next to me says "How far down this road is the airport?". I told him how to get there and as the light changed he said "thank you Ma'am".

I dropped off my packages and came back home. i came right in the house and looked in the mirror. Staring back at me was the most un-ma'am like creature you could ever imagine. I could find no visible reason for it. Perhaps I give off some kind of a fem vibe at 40 miles an hour on a crowded highway.

I have been full time for 19 months now so being referred to as Ma'am is kind of a normal thing but this caught me by surprise.
