Coming out at work is getting scarier than I expected. I do have an ally with the Union Rep (for what that is worth). HR says no to outside help with diversity training. No to any special considerations of use of the facilities too. HR is comparing coming out to a person getting a tattoo. DAH!!!!!!!! Anyway the Rep is going to try talking to the HR director again before I go to my boss and come out to him. Then there is the notifing the county people. Trying to coordinate it so one side isn't told before the other. I am not even sure they will allow me to not be there when they tell my co workers. My union rep has the fear of it bring a disaster, same as I do.
