I wanted to, once again, share some newly gained perspective from recent experiences because I continue to feel a bit of a sense of awe from how far I have come, especially recently. I read the posts about the fear people feel about going out and remembering what that felt like. I used to have such intense fear about going, and I mean intense. I NEVER thought I would get outside my door and now that I have had several outings, I realized. It's really not that bad, it's really not that big of a deal. Quite the opposite, its fun, it's empowering and liberating. Sure people stare but frankly, I got over it. If you're inching out, keep inching, you might have some fun adventures! For me it took baby steps, and now I'm at a place where I'm just having a ton of fun and I love it! i also thought I'd never be able to include a picture of me dressed online but here is one from a recent outing.

Love the dress girl!!! and yes going out is so much fun, getting to dress and be public the way you feel like you should be able to go. Hugs.

Yay! you made it! Fun dress
You will find out that the courage of going out is a long process, but each time it gets easier. 95% of the challenge is in your head, not what other people think.

It also might be possible that the more you desire to go out, the more fine tuning you spend. .....happens to us all :)

Good for you Jill. The liberation and feeling of freedom comes from being able to express who you are. I see many more positive outings for you Hon.:battingeyelashes::)

You're right, getting out and doing things en femme is a lot of fun and not nearly as scary as it seems.

Getting out and about is a blast. As was said before it's more of a mental block then anything else.

The more you do it the more natural it feels. The more natural it feels the less awkward you are. The less awkward you are the better you are accepted, the better you are accepted the more you want to do it.

See a pattern here? :)

Congratulations on your new-found freedom, Eryn

Excellent story! I've gone out dressed a couple of times but I have had other people around me when when I've been out and its always been straight from a hotel to a bar then back to the hotel and back into drab. In the next 30 days I want to try and go dressed to a local crossdressers meeting. It will be real, real nerve racking for sure but stories like this really help me along the way.

You have it right Jill. It is a real big deal as we inch along toward doing something we have never done before, whatever that is. going out is just one of them along the way. Having done it, it is now part of you. It is now just something you do. Congratulations

I am here to tell everyone, she is rocking the town! Good to see and her attitude about it is great (which certainly helps). Here is to many more fun outings!

I also been out a few times, but not to a public place. That is the gold I'm trying for and taking baby steps until I get there.
