Sorry this is so long, but I just had to tell everyone here…..
I had the Best Day today!!!
It started last October, I have a GG Friend who is also one of my Piano students. We got to talking about crossdressers, and she asked me if I ever had worn a dress. Well I said Yes, that when I was a kid my Mom made clothes for my girl cousin and I was the model. So a while later I told her that I was taking her suggestion and was going to buy a dress for myself, jokingly. She laughed, but over the next several months I kept joking by asking her when we were going dress shopping. She always laughed. I told her that I have a Very Feminine side!
Well, our relationship has developed to more than just friends now, and one day we were in my car driving somewhere, and I told her that my Feminine side was much stronger than she could imagine. The time and mood just seamed right so I told her that since I was 3 years old, I have always wanted to be a girl!! She then said “So you really do want a dress then?” She said how sad it was that my whole life I never was able to be who I really was!! She understood everything!! So she said we need to go dress shopping and get me one. Little did she know……….
So I finally told her that I Have some clothes and makeup, but I was thinking about getting a new wig. I have three wigs and I brought them over to show her about a week ago, she really liked one of them on me and said I didn’t need to get any more. She suggested that I come over and bring my clothes, then get dressed at her house and maybe we would go out for ice cream.
Now just a little background on me. I live with and care for my elderly parents, Dad is 92 and Mom is 85. When I was a kid my Mom caught me in one of her dresses and beat me severely, Dad almost didn’t talk with me. They would NEVER understand this and have no idea how I feel! I only have dressed in my bedroom with the door locked and have never gone out. I have been practicing my makeup for many months now and I have finally got the right combination! Also walking in heels back and forth for about 5 feet in my room as much as I can!
So I told her about some outfits I had and that I can do my makeup. She asked me about the makeup and my eye shadow, which I said was blue. She started giving me some tips and said she could do my makeup. Well, I told her that I would like her do see me the way I transform myself first, then if she has suggestions she could re do me.
She even went to a local mission thrift store and bought me some clothes!
Well, today was the big day!
I gathered all my stuff and went to her house. I got ready in her bathroom. I chose a black ¾ sleeve top, with a red and black long broomstick skirt, and my black heels. I wanted her to see me in this outfit, then if we were going out, I would change into sandals and maybe the Capri outfit that she bought me.
I told her I wanted her to be very honest with me when she saw me. I said “Tell me what I NEED to hear, NOT what I WANT to hear”! She said she would.
Well, I opened the door and walked out. She could not believe it was me! She said if she didn’t know it was me, she would think I was a woman. She said I looked better than she ever could have imagined and my makeup was “Spot On” She said I looked 100% like a genuine woman!! She said “I love your boobs!! I am so jalousie!!” So I told her she could barrow them anytime she wanted!! She also could not believe that I could walk so well in the heels (3 inch tall)
She wanted us to go out with me dressed just as I was. I looked in the mirror and saw a real girl looking back at me and with what she had told me I was on cloud 9.
She said I needed a good girl name, and suggested “Brook” I told her I registered on this forum as Regina Ann, and she didn’t think that suited me. Then I said I also had thought about “Barbara Jean” and she really liked that. Since my real name is Bob, she called me Barb and that works out very well. So I am now Barbara Jean!
Now I had NEVER been out fully dressed before in my Life!!! I had all the same jitters everyone talks about. I kept thinking that someone will read me and laugh. Kids will point and laugh. But when I looked in the mirror again I though “I can pull this off!”
When we look back on our lives, it’s the things we DIDN’T do that we regret the most, so I grabbed the purse she gave me, took a deep breath and out the door we went!
In the car she told me if I did get looks it would be because I looked so damn good!! She said I was Very Pretty!!!
We drove to a town about 40 miles away so I would not run into anyone I know. I told her that I really would like some nail polish to make my hands look better, so the first stop was Meijers! I was OK until the door opened, but she was right with me and I just held my head high and walked in. We went to the makeup department and got a bottle of nail polish, some remover, cotton balls, and I saw a nice compact mirror that was on sale for $1.49! I walked up and paid for them, then we went to my car and put the nail polish on me.
Now, I was wearing a skirt and she had on Capri’s, so we went to K-Mart so she could get a skirt. They had a lot of summer clothes on sale 40 and 50% off. So she found one and headed to the dressing room. Then she turned around and said, “Barb.. I think YOU should look for something to try on!!”
Now it was serious, I was going into the Women’s Dressing room!! I picked out a top and went in. It fit great and looked very cute, so I called her to look. She thought it was great too, and brought me a pair of Capri’s to try on. They fit and looked great too, so I bought them both!
We headed to the check out lane. NOW I had to try the Voice I had been working on all week! My Friend said I sounded just fine, but the real test would be when I talked to someone else. She paid first, then it was my turn. I answered the questions asked, paid the bill and the checkout girl said “You two Ladies have a Great Day”!! I PASSED!!!!!
Then we went to a restaurant for lunch, Steak and Shake. I told the waitress my order, she never batted an eye. I asked for more water, and when she brought it, she said “Sorry Ma'am that it took so long. No one was looking at me any differently than any other woman!!
After we ate, I said I would like to wash my hands, and my friend said she would wait for me. Now it was Serious, I was going into the Women’s Restroom, BY MYSELF!!!!!! This was the first time all day my friend wouldn't be with me, She had cut me loose!! I thought, “It’s going to be fine” I took my purse and walked right in. I washed my hands and thought I’d freshen my makeup. I put on lipstick and got out my face powder and was brushing it on, when a young girl in her twenties came in!! I thought "This is it, what if she reads me, I am in REAL Trouble!! But she just gave me a glance, and went into a stall! That was IT!!! I had PASSED Again!!!!
We went to two more stores where I passed 100% with Flying Colors, Even my Voice was good! !!
I just could not believe how much fun it was. I told my friend how much I appreciated her helping me like this and that her comments gave me the confidence I needed. I also told her how good it felt to be a girl! That is the real me. I was so relaxed and felt so comfortable as Barbara that I just can’t put it into words. It was over 97 degrees out and I was wearing Panty Hose and Heels and I just felt Wonderful!!!
It was so sad when I had to change back to go home, but we are planning another outing with my new outfit very soon.
So, I went out for the first time in my life as a Girl and you know what happened to me?? Nothing! The world kept going, Time did not stop, No one said anything they would not have said to any other woman out and about! All my fears were for Naught, just like everyone else has said here. I had the Best Day of my Life!!
So if you are scared about going out… Don’t Be!! Just do what I did. Go to a town far enough away so you won’t run into anyone you know. Take a friend if you can. Walk with confidence and don’t worry that people will stare and point at you, they will not!!
Remember, when you look back on your life, it's the things that you Didn't Do that you regret the most!!
Have a Great Day like I did today and you will remember it the rest of your life, I know I will!!!!

So if you are scared about going out… Don’t Be!! Just do what I did. Go to a town far enough away so you won’t run into anyone you know. Take a friend if you can. Walk with confidence and don’t worry that people will stare and point at you, they will not!!
Remember, when you look back on your life, it's the things that you Didn't Do that you regret the most!!
Have a Great Day like I did today and you will remember it the rest of your life, I know I will!!!!
