been self-medding hormones for the last 5.5 months and Ive read you should stop taking hormones for a couple of weeks before going so they can get an accurate baseline measure of your hormones. What should I do? Stop now or continue? (obviously whatever happens Ill tell them of my self-medding)

Definately stop self medicating. Ideally, one would want that stuff clear out of the system so they can do accurate testing on dosages. However, I don't thinki 6 days is going to be long enough to clear out the meds. You would be wise to tell them that you were self medicating and how long it has been since you quit.

I can't see how there could be any advantage to stopping your current regimen. As already stated, 6 days isn't long enough to have a large enough impact to provide a true baseline, and you're planning on telling them anyways. I'd just continue as you have and take the medications with you when you go to your appointment. Going to a GIC I can't imagine you're the first girl to walk through the doors self medicating, and you will certainly not be the last. ;)

personally i would not stop. it takes 6-8 weeks for hormone levels to fully adjust after a change so there is no advantage to stopping now.

I, too, was self-medicating before I started "officially" and my doctor knew that. He did not mention anything special. He did, though, ask me to have a blood test about 6 weeks in.
