I'm shocked! Shocked I say... that it only took 8 or 9 days from fingerprints to certificate in the mail :) I'm impressed, I was anticipating a month or more.
Happy dance!
Now to do the bajillion other pieces of id and records and such...

"Ms Brittany North", as you are introduced to the queen. Then, of course, you curtsey. Leanne

Congratulations. I got mine last month and cmae out to al in the past few weeks. It is amazing the feeling I have. A load of worry is lifted off of me. Everyone tells me I am looking much happier. Feels like the weight of the world is gone. I hope you have that feeling of euphoria.

Don't I know about it...
It is such a huge weight off any woman's shoulders when she stops carrying a man around in her purse.
Congratulations in taking your first real steps in affirming your true gender. :hugs: xx

It is a huge step. But one thing - do not share your old name with anyone who doesn't already know it.

Thanks everybody! North is a direction and state of mind for me, rather than a name, :canada:

OMG that's so timely, yesterday my old name just slipped out when I was talking to a new neighbour when our dogs were playing, I felt like a complete idiot but couldn't correct myself. Definately some neural pathways need a little reworking...

It takes time don't beat yourself up over it. I can remember starting to sign my old name a few times early on and then catching myself.

I am really happy for you. I still remember that day as if it were yesterday. Now your journey can really pick up speed.
