This is about a crazy smart doctor I see and kinda my gender journey thus far.

Okay, I'm an achy, painy, cracky joints kinda person and I see a DO that does manual manipulation. It's like a chiropractor that does your whole body - he can adjust your skull, your feet, and even internal organs. He has a pretty refined sense of touch.

I don't know what I am - I've been to two gender therapists so far and I've made their heads figuratively explode, I'm on my third one and it's going better - she's a psychoanalyst. She seems to just be trying to get to know me first (what an idea) before really trying to diagnose or treat me.

I know I'm shall we say, "gender variant", 'cause I've been taking t-blockers since the end of January and I feel sooooooooo much better with them. I really didn't want to self-medicate but I felt like I couldn't go forward with my life if I didn't try them. When I took my first pill of spiro the malaise I had my whole life lifted up! It was so great!

Anyway, the point of this post is the DO. I have not told him a single solitary thing about my gender/identity issues. I go to my appointments totally in guy mode. We have a really good relationship and have some pretty good conversations during our visits. (One time we got on the topic of making moonshine, hehe).

At some level, this guy can still tell!!!

During one of my visits, I had forgotten to take my cypro that day and he said to me "Something is very wrong."

And another time I forgot exactly what it was but he said something like, that's just where you are in transition.

Anyway, I have a crazy smart doctor. So cool.

All I can say is you are probably missing some great additional insights from this wicked smart intuitive DO by not telling him your whole and current medical history including Rxs you are taking.

When we don't tell, its because we fear others negative judgment. From what you say he knows. So, what the fear? T levels can affect a lot of things in a body, and possibly be involved in joint pain. Don't make him guess about these things. Give him the straight dope so he can shoot you straight.

Hugs,

Pickles,
A doctor that practices chiropractic manipulation as well as being an MD is a gem to have.
There are a few of them around and they have a good understanding of both types of treatments.
Generally Chiros and MD s are poles apart in their thinking.Your last 2 lines where he detected that you were not medicating tells a story.
If he is taking blood tests he would know what you are ingesting.
If I were you I would stay under that doctors orders and tell him your desires at least.

Pickles of course! What in "Tar nation" is a polite way of saying what the "fu**" are you talking about! It is a localized idiom from a unnamed state north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Thank you Tracy, I was wondering as Chiropractors and MD's do not usually mix they tend to have different views.
I remember being treated by one years ago and his combined medical knowledge of nerves, back problems, posture etc helped my confidence in him when he wanted to make physical adjustments.

I have to throw this out there.

By any chance do you drink a lot of diet drinks or eat foods with Nutrasweet (Aspartame)

I ask this because till about two months ago I used to and I was in constant agony for years to the point of saying wouldn't be nice if I got hit by a truck today. No Kidding.

Because of some health issues I stopped drinking carbonated drinks and in about a week or so I realized that I don't hurt nearly as much any more. At least not to the point where I was considering stupid things.

Just saying you know?

Maybe it will help.
