As I was sitting in my local Starbucks enjoying the free internet connection and this fine forum a female friend of mine asked if I had taken her purse. I said that I had not, it was hanging from the back of her chair. She said "Good I really don't think it's your color." I replied that I did like her purse and that it would go well with several of my outfits.

Of course she did not believe me. Honesty can be a wonderful thing.

I'd have replied "No, I have my own right here!"

My question is, why did she think that you had taken her purse? The way the question was asked indicates that she wasn't angry. Had she just forgotten where it was?

Don't know her fashion sense and don't know what you were wearing, but it sounds like her mind was not focused, forgetting where her purse was, and not recognizing a well appointed woman at Starbucks.

My wife has been getting a big kick lately from leaving her purse with me while she goes to the restroom in a restaurant, sees the doctor in the office, etc. She makes sure someone is listening and then comments on how it matches my outfit.

I love it! :heehee:
