Two months from today, I will be on the operating table having my SRS. Time is really flying now. With all my excitement also comes the concerns about the surgery itself and any possible complications. Nevertheless, I remain very positive and waiting for the day I can be "whole, complete, and congruent."

See all of you here 30 days from today!

I'm glad that you are thinking about your part in the process and staying healthy both before and after surgery. The time will fly by now!

Just as Eryn said, Traci, 6 months from now you'll look back on it all and it WON'T MATTER! Because by then, you'll be looking forward at the woman you've become! I've personally seen this happen to a number of girls here!

Do they post here anymore? No, they're too busy living their new lives! As will U!

I certainly hope is will happen within 6 months. I don't know about the latter. You may be right there but I do have a lot of friends here.

Actually Traci, you are a day late - you will be post op for 24 hours and I will be post op for 48 hours. What
you are forgetting about when you go to Thailand you will be is crossing the international date line and will
jump forward a day, because today is the 12th of August in Thailand. So not as long to go as you thought. ;)

I sure hope Traci is planning to fly into Thailand at least one day before her surgery!

Or could she go around the other way and get there a day early? :)

Hugs,
Persephone.

This is a good point! Remember it in making your travel plans .... you do get the day "back" when you return ;) It can also make your head hurt a bit while talking to people on SkyPe LOL!! {Yes, mom I know, but here it is already Monday .... blah blah... }

This is why I mentioned it, because if you are in the USA and your surgery date is the 11th of October, then leaving on the 9th
is leaving the day before surgery. So make sure you make allowances for this in your travel plans. To leave 3 days for travel and
to arrive in ample time for surgery you really have to leave on the 8th. I am leaving Australia on the 7th with an overnight stay
in Singapore before arriving at about 8.20am on the 8th. This will give me almost 2 full days in Thailand before I have my surgery.

One interesting thing to remember about the international date line is if it is your birthday here in Australia today, you could get on a
plane and fly back to the USA and celebrate it all again tomorrow. Now you see how the USA is really behind the rest of the world. ;) LOL

Yes you are ALL correct. Got to love that International Date line. BUT I had that one figured out months ago when I purchased my Airlines tickets. I leave SC before the birds get up on Saturday the 6th of Oct. I arrive in Bangkok at 00:05 on October 8th. YES THAT'S 5 minutes past midnight in the wee hours of the 8th. So I will have a full day the 8th, 9th, 10th, then prone on the 11th!

Charlene hop on a plane and come and hold my hand. Melody will be holding the other! Well no she won't. She will be in never never happy land with all those pain drugs pumping through her veins when I am having my surgery the next day.

This is starting to sound like one of those "chain games" that are so popular in the trivia section! :)

I'm happy for you both and hope that you get the opportunity to at least say hello to each other at a time you'll both remember!

Congrats Traci, time will go by faster than you think or at least I hope it will for you... I am still hoping for a date on mine and also not having to make a 25 hour flight makes me very happy. Right now it looks like I am going to CA. for mine...

That's funny you should say that because I am already feeling rushed and thinking there is so much I have to get together and do. I have to take my last full set of blood test, EKG, and chest x-ray on Sept 4th day after Labor Day, Then get the results B4 Sept 11 and email all the results to Dr. C. on that day so he has time to review my final results b4 surgery. I am already beginning to feel like a hen with her head cut off. AND YOU TELL ME IT'S GOING TO PICK UP IN SPEED! Yikes!

no worries, if you send the labs off with less than 30 days no one will say boo to you ;) Dr. C's clinic are quite calm about most things :hugs:

I do wish I could fly over to hold your hand while eating some curry with the other hand !!

Today I went back to see the doctor for the results of all my pre-SRS medical tests, blood work, ECG, Chest X-Ray and
to get the reports to send off to Dr Saran and all is well. So I now have a totally green light for SRS in Thailand. Yay!!!!

But to be honest I was a bit concerned about how I was going to go with this given how bad my health really was before I
started my transition 2 years ago. Even my regular GP was thinking I was in serious trouble about 4 years ago with not very
long to live. So this really does show what a difference transition can make to someone's life. I realise more than ever that my
decision to transition one of the best things I could have ever done where I have regained my health & most importantly my life.

I find it hard to put everything into words about how I feel right now, but I am sure that Traci and others who have had SRS will
understand. A lifetime of pain and suffering from living with gender incongruency is finally coming to an end & I will be 100% me :)

Melody, I totally understand where you are coming from and all the emotions you are feeling. And Congrats on all your tests. I had all the tests done in June and everything was A-OK too. But Dr. C. because I am in the 50+ group wants all the tests again done 2 to 4 days before my 1 month mark (Sept 11th) for his FINAL review. I saw my GYN last Friday and she reviewed all my June tests and said I was in great health. Hopefully, Dr, C. will agree too.

And you are so right from Post-Op +1 second on we will both be "WHOLE, COMPLETE, & CONGRUENT!"

Dr Saran wants the test done within 3 months of the SRS date, so 2 months before is ideal,
because I had to also get an ECG from my regular GP, a Chest X-Ray from another clinic and
my blood work from my gender clinic. In all it has taken 5 appointments over the course of a
couple of weeks and it is a good job that these tests are all covered under public health here.
So there has been a fair bit involved with getting everything needed for surgery with Dr. Saran.
But I am really glad it is all over now and just want to pay for my surgery and also book my
accommodation. However there is some place they do want me to stay before and after SRS.

I will let you know more when they send me the email with all the details.

xx

Hey Sis, Just sent you a PM. But why is it we need chest x-rays.?I don't understand that one. I have to not only send all my tests via email but I also have to bring all the originals including the x-ray firm itself.

They are checking for signs of pnumonia more than likely.

Knock on Wood, I don't have that. I guess I need to wear a mask when in public so as not to pick up any germs between now & Oct 11th! (smiling)

Jorga is right, they are looking for signs leading to possible chest infections or Pneumonia, because
there is a increased risk of complications because of the time we are under general anaesthetic. And
"Yes" I had to send off by email which I just compiled neatly into a single PDF Document, all letters of
recommendation for surgery, scan of my passport, airline ticket, medical reports, blood test results,
ECG Chart including a high quality digital image of my chest x-ray. But I also have to take all the originals
documents with me to Thailand. So there are lots of little things we need to get sorted out long before
we can even get on the plane. But I really think it is all going to be worth it. :)
