A couple days ago I decided I needed a different night out and my choice was the casino in Grande Ronde.

Had a pedi and mani earlier in the day and I dressed not to stand out with skinny jeans, strappy 'jean heels' and a black turtleneck, belted hip length top.

The blackjack tables were not very full so I sit in one and make some chips. 10 minutes later, two Latino men sit at the table, one right next to me. I am perfectly bilingual, so I of course understand everything they are saying -but they dont know that.

After a few minutes, the man next to me moves over to the end stool which was open and his partner -in Spanish, of course- asks him why he is moving, His response made my day and week: 'I am going to smoke a cigarrete and don't want the smoke bothering her.'

Her.

I played for two hours and would up twelve bucks up, too. :D

I went to a casino last Thursday night and really had a good time. I kept winning as I was getting tired and wanted to go home. Ended up home at around 3am. Only lost about 5.00 the whole evening. Probably was the best dressed girl there. LOL I didn't notice anyone staring at me either. Maybe they were just to tired.:)

Yup! don't interrupt the gambling process.
It can be interesting when they don't realize you can understand them.
Nice to bust up a confidential conversation.
French generally think no one else speaks the language and can be quite arrogant.
Speak a little French and their demeanor changes somewhat.

You had fun. You won. You felt good. That is passing. Who care what anyone else thinks anyway.

True dat!
I of course understood all they said between them and now that you say that, I completely agree...they were very respectful of each other and their surroundings...
Muchas gracias, hermanas!

I would say that you passed in that situation, Helen. I find that men are less likely to read me than women...don't ask me why. Perhaps they are so focused on the usual gender indicators (ie boobs and hips) that they miss the other tells.
