Hey Ladies, Just wanted to let everyone know in about a couple of weeks im going to be going to a wig shop and get a wig. Im kinda of nervous about doing it cause its my first time. A girl in here gave me lots of helpful hints in here to go about it. Also I will be having one of thoes colon tests done in two weeks I dread that! After that I can finally shave my legs and dress up finally. Hope things go well with the wig shop when I go there. Angie

Good Luck Angie. I can tell you about my very positive experience, if that helps.
I called ahead and made an appointment at a local wig store. When I called I said that I was a guy looking for a ladies wig. The stylist immediately "perked up" and said that I was very welcome to come and she would help me. Said I was welcome to come in dressed en femme when I asked about that. So set up my appointment under the name Victoria.
I did go dressed en femme. It was a wonderful experience. I ended up buying a synthetic wig and also a natural hair wig. All in all made 3 separate trips to the wig shop, dressed in a skirt each time.
Doing that gave me confidence to go out and since then I went shopping as Victoria and bought a new top (tried it on in the store), also had a bra fitting and tried on some bras in a lingerie store and at that same store bought 4 new pairs of panties.
I am very comfortable now as Victoria. My hairdresser helped me a lot! :p
Good Luck! I'd love to hear how your wig shopping experience goes.
Hugs,
Victoria

Hi Angie!
I remember my first wig shop buying experience like it was yesterday... actually, it was last Wednesday! It was wonderful, positive, and unforgettable, and I hope yours is, as well.
Take your time, try on lots of styles and colors, and have fun! We will all be waiting for the full report form you!

Good luck with your shopping trip, I hope you find a wig you like. I remember buying my first and only wig, it was from a little wig shop in a large indoor market. You know I walked back and forth past that shop for what felt like hours before I plucked up the courage to step inside and you know what. the woman didn't bat an eyelid, she just closed the door and flipped the sign to "closed". I must have spent about an hour in there trying on all the different wigs, and after all that I left with my first wig. which I must say I now really don't like, it's a little too close to my natural colour and having had real long hair before it just doesn't feel fem... I have Monday off work so if I get a chance I might just be taking a trip back

A note of caution:-
You don't HAVE to have a colon test when you buy a wig. That is only done in the cheaper wig shops....... and I'm never going back!!
(Seriously..good luck and have fun....Buying a wig that is.)

A new wig and a colon test... life doesn't get any better than that! Seriously, good luck with both!

My trip to a wig shop was the best. The woman there treated me with the utmost respect. I'll be shopping her again when I get another. And I ended up with the one you see in all of my pictures, so I guess I could have done worse. I'm sure you'll have a very positive experience.
