View Full Version : Told my sister!!!

Well, I’ve finally done it. I’ve finally told someone close to me about Angel’s crossdressing and my participation in it.

My half sister, Heather, is 22 years old and I am 36. I have been like a mother to her all her life. A few days ago she moved across the country to Atlanta, Georgia – 2,500 miles away from me. In the weeks leading up to her departure, Heather and I had some very deep, intimate conversations about life, love, and our innermost thoughts. Angel had told me that I could tell my sister about his crossdressing whenever the time seemed right. Heather is a very tolerant, open-minded person, and I was fairly sure she would take the news in stride. She attended her high school prom with her gay male best friend, so alternative lifestyles don’t phase her a bit. On the day she left for Atlanta, the opportunity I had been waiting for finally arose.

Prior to my big revelation, I had the opportunity to lay some groundwork and gauge her reaction. My sister happened to be visiting me when I received a letter from a young CD friend who lives in Los Angeles. “Jessica” had included with the letter a photo of herself en femme – and Heather saw me open it. She asked me who the girl in the photo was, and I replied, “Would you believe it’s a boy?” This led to a brief discussion about boys who like dressing up as girls, and my sister seemed very intrigued. But I still chose not to divulge any information about Angel and me, until……

A few days later, Heather surprised me by bringing up the subject of crossdressing again. Apparently, she was so interested in what I had told her, that she decided to ask her ex-boyfriend, her current boyfriend, and pretty much every guy she knows, whether they had ever worn women’s clothes. And what do you think? Every single one said, “Well actually….” It turned out that her ex had let a girl dress him up once “just for fun,” her boyfriend had worn panties before “only in the bedroom,” and her other friends sheepishly admitted that that they had also played dress-up at some point in their lives. I could see what was coming next, long before it came. She got to the end of her tale and then asked me, “So, have you ever dressed a guy up in girls’ clothes?” I cleared my throat, took a deep breath, and said, “Well actually…...”

And I told her everything! I asked if she had ever noticed that Angel paints his toenails and wears earrings. She said yes, she had. Well, I said, he sometimes dresses completely as a woman. “He does?” she asked, one eyebrow raised. “Yeah,” I said, “it’s fun. We even go out together with him dressed up.” She seemed amazed by this, so I continued, “Lots of straight men like to dress up as women. Most of them start doing it when they’re very young, like five or six years old. They are more in touch with their feminine side than regular guys are, and they enjoy expressing it. I know a lot of crossdressers, and they’re all really sweet.”

“Do you like it?” she wanted to know. “Yeah,” I said, “I’ve been into it for years.” I asked her if she remembered my ex-boyfriend. “He was a crossdresser too,” I explained. “Wow,” she said, “That’s so cool!” She thought it was cool! Woo hoo! I asked her if she wanted to see some pictures of Angel as a woman. She did. So we went to the computer and I showed her a few photos of me with Angel en femme, at a club and at a Tri-Ess meeting. “Gosh, he looks different,” she exclaimed. “He looks so much better with hair!”

I had always wondered what it would be like to share this part of our lives with someone from outside the TG community….and now I know. It was a terrific feeling. And the best part is, the next time my sister asks me what I will be doing at the weekend, I won’t have to say, “Oh, erm, nothing much.”

Wow Marla, that's a neat story. I wish we could find more understanding girls that we could talk to. For example, I would like to tell my sister and some of my girl cousins. It would be special if we could sit and visit, have tea party or go shopping and I could be dressed up with them.

You and your sister are special.

Hugs,
Victoria

Marla, you have an amazing family... but you already knew that! Congratulations to all of you! It must be quite a relief to have another person who is already intimately familiar with you and Angel to share this with now. (And no way you're 36 :undecided )

Great story Marla, thanks for sharing.

Heather sounds great - you are going to miss her heaps. Have you introduced her to this site so you can keep in touch yet another way?

Should she join I'm sure all the girls would love to get to know her.

Hope to hear more of Heather,

Love,

Jan

Awesome story, Marla! I'm sure you must be breathing easily now that you've got someone "outside the community" to talk to -- not to mention family.

Heather sounds like a wonderful woman, as Stephanie said, she's a credit to her "mother."

BTW, if your sister is interested in meeting some more real-live CDs, Atlanta seems to have a pretty big community -- not to mention the annual Southern Comfort Conference.

Well, now there's one more wonderful tolerant and accepting woman in the world. Perhaps she, too, will find a man, dress him up, and hit the town, now that she knows how much fun there is to be had.

Thanks for sharing, Marla.
(Nice name, by the way!)

Another success story Marla! Loved reading that. Your sister found out the big secret that a lot of straight guys have done a little dressing up in their lifetime, and now she knows that a few take it a notch farther. Very cool.
Now that your sister has moved to Atlanta, you and Angel will have an excuse to come for a visit sometime. I hope you'll let me and some of the other "girls" here in Atlanta show you all around someday.

Great story, Marla. Thank you for sharing it with us. Too bad tha it took you so long toreveal it to your sister. Had she known earlier, the three of you could have had some funn and you wouldn't have had to think of stories to tell her when she asked what yuou had planned on doing over the weekends. I am glad tha things worked out.

Very cool Marla. Did you tell your sister that there is a pretty active CD community in Atlanta, if she's interested?

Hi Marla!

WOW!!!!!!!!! That is so cool. I'm glad it went so well!!!!!!!!!! It is risky opening up to others, even family - sometimes especially family. May you and your sister remain ever close.

So many of us are just petrified to come out to family and friends.
Here's just another example of what a wonderful experience taking that risk can be. Thanks for sharing your beautiful story.

It's funny, Marla, since you and Angel joined us 6 months ago, I've often thought to myself... "I wonder if she's got a sister?" :D

Love n hugs,

Hi Marla!

You must feel happy sharing the truth with your sister and getting a positive reaction.

Thanks for sharing your story.

It seems ok for guys to express their feminine side from time to time.

I'm sure there are a considerable amount of straight guys who experiment with crossdressing in varying degrees.

I'm happily married and love and am intrigued by women. My wife doesn't always understand but is tolerant. I have been crossdressing since my early teens and remember starting at 5 years old.

Hi Marla,

I just read your post. I'm really glad everything worked out so well. You've always been very supportive whenever I've put a thread up so it's nice to see good things happening to good people. It must have been a really difficult thing to judge but who knows your sister better than you? Also, you now have her to talk to.

She sounds really cool. It's quite a coincidence that she knows so many guys who have experimented with crossdressing. Maybe there's something happening at a subconscious level. Either way, it looks as though she's had an insight into CDing and realises that it's not the bizzare freaky thing some people think it is.

Good luck and take care,

Mark.
