View Full Version : Hey Guys, Why Not Panties

O.K., Everybody handle it, another thread on panties. I was in Target yesterday and bought 5 pair for $20.00, they were Gilligan&O'Mally and I chose 4 bikinni's and 1 thong. They are so comfortable and fit so well and look absolutely great on. One pair is very soft thin cotton with a small amount of lace around the legs and waste, the others are a combination of nylon and spandex; they feel almost wet to the touch and you feel commando wearing them. I can't understand why more males don't get into wearing panties that look and feel this good compared to what I see them wearing in the locker room and in male underwear advertisements. In the locker room I see a lot of young men having gone from boxers and briefs to heavy cotten that go almost to their knees. Panties offer thinner softer material, a sexy cut, pretty colors and the ones I bought are more comfortable than you can imagine, the thong isn't bad either. It's like they are still driving a 1950 car with stright shift. Why not crossover to something better just as women have no problem entering into, buying and wearing male clothing. Can we fault women for not encouraging men to try panties, are males afraid to try something out of that male boundry? If they tried it I think they would like it (just so nobody would laugh and call them sissy) and perhaps this could lead to most all clothing becoming unisex and accepted by the masses. Boy, would this be a plus for crossdressers!!!!!

I wear some female panties but usually guy bikinis that are micro fiber or spandex/ nylon blend.
Most female panties are OK I do like the feel when wearing them.

The thing is it's a hard sell for many guys. They don't like other guys accusing them of being sissified.:)

Panties don't have the flap that allow for easy access in restroom situations. Men's underwear has a functional design, but I HATE how boxers can bunch up around the top of the leg.

I think your reply intrigues me, you are way to girly but prefer the male spandex briefs.
I go for nylon panties. You do have a good avatar, I like it. :)
Whatever is comfortable for me.

Full cut nylon panties are far more comfortable than men's cotton briefs. The thing is that most men wouldn't admit that point even if they were being tortured. Something about a "masculine ego". As for me, comfort rules.

Of course I do add a few lacy briefs to my collection...;-)

Enjoy,

While I've found comfortable panties (VAnity fair 'Illumination' high cuts seem to have more crotch room than any woman could possibly need), for work purposes my 'tighty whity' Dockers briefs are the most comfortable I've ever owned, quality better than Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, Jockey, Calvin Klein, nothing I've seen is better, and they're priced 'normally', I think 5 pair for something like $15.

O.K. everybody handle it, I'm actually commenting in a panty thread...

I can't understand why more males don't get into wearing panties that look and feel this good compared to what I see them wearing in the locker room and in male underwear advertisements. ...Panties offer thinner softer material, a sexy cut, pretty colors and the ones I bought are more comfortable than you can imagine, the thong isn't bad either. ... Why not crossover to something better just as women have no problem entering into, buying and wearing male clothing.

I can't understand why so many on the CD side of things can't understand that most males are perfectly content in being the dudes that they are. Lace trim on their undies would do NOTHING for them. They generally don't desire softer material. That option is out there in that there are some microfiber guy-briefs which are probably just popular enough to keep them on the market but I dare to say they aren't the norm. Sexy cut? Dudes generally don't look sexy running around in women's undies, speaking of the non-CD'er types who wouldn't know tucking if it hit them over the head, not to mention that they'd be utterly horrified at such a thought. Pretty colors? Guys just don't care.

You see, we have this thing called a gender binary. 99.-whatever percent of our population is all good with guys being guys and girls being girls. That being the reality, most of those girls have zero desire to see their dude running around in her panties.

I don't want a world where all clothing becomes unisex. I want one where an individual (no matter how they identify whether CD, TS or anywhere in between) can dress in a manner consistent with their wishes.

Full cut nylon panties are far more comfortable than men's cotton briefs. The thing is that most men wouldn't admit that point even if they were being tortured. Something about a "masculine ego". As for me, comfort rules.

While I may choose to eschew said men's cotton briefs, there is absolutely nothing uncomfortable about them. Guys aren't out there trying to get their heads around why their underwear is just not right. Whether briefs or boxers, guy underwear is just fine...for guys.

It's nuclear for me! Too much "fall out"!

Panties don't have the flap that allow for easy access in restroom situations. Men's underwear has a functional design, but I HATE how boxers can bunch up around the top of the leg.

The only time I ever wore boxers was in navy boot camp, otherwise I wore tightie whities and even though both styles have the functional front door, I have no problem extracting my equipment from under the leg opening of my panties. I find panties to be much more comfortable than men's briefs or boxers, and wear panties of various styles and colors 24/7. If any macho guys want to laugh at me and call me sissy, I just tell them don't knock it if you aint tried it.

30 years ago there were men's nylon bikinis without a front door. 10 years before that I recall unisex knickers in nylon & blends. Maybe the undies companies could bring them back. One plus with them- plenty of ballroom.

Sara Jessica answered beautifully! I can't possibly add to all her wonderful points, except to emphasize that 99% of males don't wear panties BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT CDs! :p

... just as women have no problem entering into, buying and wearing male clothing

I don't know why it is so difficult to understand that we don't wear men's clothing. I and 99% of the women I know buy women's clothing, tailored for women's busts, waists, and hips, purchased in women's stores, and sold in women's sizes. :wall:

I own about 200 pairs of panties, most of which are silk or satin. On the other hand I also own about 5 pair of mens white jockey shorts, which are cotton!! Want to guess which I wear most often? The panties are far more comfortable to wear all day long!! BTW, I do not wear thongs! And yes, I am definitely a CD. But there are a lot more of us than 1 %!!

I have not worn any kind of male underwear in over a year, I hate them now, and they are extremely uncomfortable. i have three boxer briefs that just sit in my drawer in case I find a girlfriend, lol.

It is the same for me. I have A few pair male just incase.

I started trying on my Mom's underwear for the look and because it aroused me but over the years I learned how comfortable Girl's Thongs are.

Even untucked I have no problem falling out, I do get the ones that have an elastic border around the front triangle with string bottom and back. I sometimes customize the upper front border if it is too wide.

Reine, for some reason I take offense to what you say, maybe i'm taking the implications wrong, but the majority of women do not fit into women's clothing they just look horrible, I see it every day.

Really?

That's odd, a vast majority of women that I see each and every day fit wonderfully in their women's clothing.

I wear panties most days now, came as a bit of a tester for me first few times I got undressed / dressed at the gym, but I manage quite well now, I have a selection of different styles depending on mood and I am amazed at how comfortable thongs are, my wife say she doesn't understand how they can be, I say try them, they work for me !!

What I do know is all my panties are way more comfortable than my man pants

Sarah27, great responce, our minds are definately on the same page. ReineD, if a wife bought some panties as I described and encouraged her mate to wear them, complimented him on how nice he looked in them compaired to his boxers and promised and assured him this would be just their little secret I have to believe he would prefer them because of the comfort and sexy look and feel as they outlined and hugged his in's and out's. Secrecy and re-inforceing his male echo would be the key to the switch. How could he honestly not admit panties look and feel better. If male undies looked and felt better than panties I assure you women would be wearing them with no reservations or shame. Good for women. Just like Sarah bootcut girl jeans fit me better than guy jeans and feel so much nicer to wear, especially when worn over feminine panties. I have tried all the stores for soft male jeans that fit close to the body but they just aren't there. Not all men are big bellied, unshaven slobs; some have sensitive (or feminine???) feelings about their appearance which includes soft materials tailored to fit their body. I hear what you said but I do think if men were "trained" by their mates and their ego wasn't challenged some would enjoy the change once they were into panties.

I totally agree with Sarah27 When she says she buys what fits. I wear womens/girls clothes because they fit my my build/shape in waist, hips, butt and legs. All my casual clothes and some dress are. As far as panties also more comfortable and fit. Never wore boxers, used to wear jockey briefs until I discovered ladies bikinis and hipsters great fit. No I do not identify as CD.

Deebra, I'm afraid that you're making the mistake that many people make, which is to assume that everyone else feels the same way they do.

And since you are a CDer, you cannot imagine what it must be like to be a guy who loves his manhood and who does not want to be feminine in any way. Granted, a guy will do what it takes to have great sex and if his girlfriend wants him to wear frilly panties in bed, I'm sure he'll jump on it, but left on his own this is not something he'd wear to hang out with the other guys. lol

And I agree, not all men are big-bellied, unshaven slobs. Who said they were? :p

Reine, for some reason I take offense to what you say, maybe i'm taking the implications wrong, but the majority of women do not fit into women's clothing they just look horrible, I see it every day. I actually fit into women's clothing better than mens clothing,

Huh. Where do you live, where there would be such a high volume of women who do not fit well into women's clothes? And why would you take offense to my statement that women buy women's clothing?

I suspect that you are also perhaps looking through your own filters, and you are not noticing the majority of women but are instead focusing on the women who perhaps are overweight? Admittedly, obesity is a problem in this country among both men and women but even then it is obvious that most people do not cross gender lines with their clothing choices. Also, in our current economic crunch there are many women who prefer paying bills rather than spend $$$ on just themselves so their style of dress may not be as elaborate as you might like, but if you walked around where I live, you would see that the vast majority of women are wearing clothing that was obviously purchased in women's stores and there is a distinct difference between what they wear and what the guys wear, even when these women wear pants or blue-jeans. :)

Truthfully, there isn't a sufficient fashion (or fetish) statement in a pair of non-bikin/non-thong women's panties which make me want to put up the discomfort involved in wearing them. I'm tall and thin, and the leg holes are too large for my thighs, and the fronts simply are not cut for me. I don't claim to be equipped like a porn star, but although I love the look I've never tried on a pair of female bikini or thong panties which "fit." Over a period of years I switched to wearing almost exclusively the very comfortable thongs and bikinis made by 2Xist, which sells a lot of underwear to the Gay community. They are relatively expensive at $15-20 a pair. which is why the switch took place over a period of time. No pastels, however, just black and white. I do agree with everyone who has commented on how horrible standard men's boxers and tighty-whitey underwear are, however. I'd rather go Commando than wear anything made by Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, or Jockey!

Same as me, boxers briefs are more comfortable for me, and keep things under control. I couldn't imaging wearing panties all the time, no way everything would stay together down there.

Of course we all agree that panties are superior in a number of ways: price, fit, feel...

But, much of what guys wear is based upon none of those things. Guys where what they think look good to which ever gender they are trying to attract!!! Unless their potential partners think wearing panties is hot, there's no way the general male population is going to look at panties as an option.....sadly

Sarah,

One thing to remember is that everyone is different, just because one person likes or does one thing. Does not mean that others will or have to as well, not every guy will like to or want to wear panties. Regardless if their a CD or not, they may still choose to wear male under wear. Although your right on society dictating what each "gender" should wear to some extent. You have to see that woman's and men's clothing is designed to fit that genders body shape, and with that comes comfort.

Like others have said panties are not designed with the male anatomy in mind, its designed for a GG and post op TS's.

And please do not be condescending to other members, we are all here to support each other. This is a good place where everyone regardless of what they are (CD, TG, TS, MTF, FTM) is accepted and has a place to voice their opinions and ask questions. I would like it to stay that way.

wow

I haven't peeked into this thread because I didn't really think I had anything to add, but damn I missed some fun stuff.

Sarah, you can say whatever you want about Reine, but questioning her intellect is just silly. She has soooooo many remarkable posts that if you're gonna call her out on something, you better pick something that isn't clearly goofy, like, um .... she has a vagina, gross! Oh, wait, you've mentioned that you like girls (eeewww)

Anyhoo, I don't know what you would find disagreeable about Reine, but even those that don't like her wouldn't throw shade at her intellect. She has proven to be a sharp cookie indeed. You on the other hand have proven to be a bit of a brat, and not in a good way. I hope you find what you're looking for but coming into a forum and flaming the vets is never a good strategy. You should know better.

Disregarding the issue of women not fitting into womens clothing, did you read the rest of my reply? I literally hate mens clothing and feel horrible and depressed seeing myself wearing them, I always have from my earliest memories.

Sarah, no one is disputing that you do not enjoy wearing men's clothing.

Deebra's original point was a suggestion that men who do not crossdress (not you), might be encouraged to wear women's panties in order to make it easier for CDers to be accepted. I responded that non-CDers do not enjoy wearing women's things because, well, they don't crossdress. And yes, I did read the rest of your reply but this thread isn't about you or other CDs/TGs/TSs who wear women's clothing (of course you all do), so I did not feel it was necessary to address your clothing choices.

FYI, my own SO wears women's clothing too, and I fully support her. :)

Also, Deebra initially said that GGs wear men's clothing. I responded that we do not wear men's clothing since all of our clothing is purchased in women's stores. You objected to this and I asked why you were offended since this has nothing to do with you or other CDs/TGs/TSs. I further suggested that you may be filtering what you see, in response to your statement that you believe most women don't fit their clothes well. This was not an attack on you, it was a point of discussion, and if you took it as an attack I apologize.

It's OK. :hugs:

The difficult thing about forums is that we only see the written word without hearing the tone of voice behind it, or seeing all the body language that accompanies it. And it's just so easy to put our own spin on something that a person says, especially if we're having a bad day. It happens all the time.

No harm done. :)
