This is a little bit for all of you that has come furhter than myself (M2F preop, 10 months on hrt and 4 month of rle).

So, I am now about to do some ffs and dealing with hair. I know, I should have done long time ago, but what interestes me is the female figure (waist/hips) and how to acheive this. My upper growth is slowly getting there so that should only be about time. But my waist - how do I go about this?

Just my guess but I will bet you are a V type body. Your shoulders are broader than your hips. Your waist is lean and less defined and you have narrow hips, a smaller and flat bottom with slimmer legs. I picked V simply because most of us are. Sound like you?

Your narrow hips give you option and versatility. If your shoulders are very broad, you will want to add volume to your hips for equilibrium and stay away from styles that exaggerate the shoulder area.

Dresses: Avoid high waistlines and empire seams or ruffles near the top. Look for details like bold prints, pockets and pleats on the lower half to add plenty and keep it uncomplicated on top.

Skirts: Torso skirts with soft pleating, tiers and conferrence are your first option because they add volume and equilibrium your figure. Stay away from any style that gathers at the natural waist or appears to cut you in half, thus exaggerating the upper body.

Pants: Your option – with narrow hips you can wear them all.

Fabric and Color: Experiment with color, prints and texture to see what fits your personality and stature. Generate interest on the bottom half with prints and color and keep the top uncomplicated to downplay the shoulder area.

If this is not you then google body types and determine what type you are follow what they recommend for your type.

Maybe try a Corset. Karren says it works very well. I like mine, but only wear it once in a while.

I have been on HRT for 4 years. And like you(I think) have a v type body. Though my shoulders, for my height, are not broad. I was worried about the same thing, but to my surprise, I NOW have hips! Sometimes hormones can work wonders!

What Abby said. It's amazing what hormones can do to your figure.

Thanks for all the input. I do corsets and it works, but the ones I got are the show-offs like the one in my Avatar - I'll be needing some that just does the job and does not show at all. Hormones seem to help even if the progress is way too slow for my likings. A few of things here, I've gained some hips and upper growth, I do measure my progress every month but I have not got the details with my just now. Most people seem to put on weight but I'm loosing mine fast, so fast I need to worry about this, also I'm getting some bothering spots on my hips - not flattering at all, kinda looks like mild acne. Strange that with me loosing weight, I usually have 3 meals in restaurants a day and I'm a heavy drinker as well - how can I be loosing weight with that horrible diet and hormones?

One more thing that really bothers me is my upper arms, way too big, and I have no clue how to make them thinner.

Everyone on this sight in the know have stated that HRT will not change bone structures just some soft tissue changes. I am living proof that "that ain't necessarily true." I have been on HRT for over 3 years and over the last couple of months, both I and my wife have noticed that my hip joint bone protrudes which it never did before HRT. Even just this small amount is giving my hips a more feminine appearance.

Lets think about this for a second. If it is when natal girls hit puberty that the hormones kick in to develop the secondary sex characteristics one being wider hips, then would it not be reasonable to except some growth there when as in my case, I started out looking fairly female as I never had much "t" to cause havoc on my body in the first place.

Another point before HRT I was 5' 8.5" tall. Now I am EXACTLY 5' 7". Explain that away! Prior to HRT, I wore a woman's size 10. Now I wear a woman's size 9. You got an answer for that?

I also have a video that is no longer available on YouTube that is called "The Bombshell Workout for Transsexual Women" It consists of all the exercises your need to do to give yourself a female waist line. The file is so large that I can not sent it through email even by reducing the size. But it is a great program. If I new how to upload very large files, I would make it available here.

Traci, when my BFF started on hormones, she also had shrinkage -- oops, not meaning to reference Seinfeld there. ;-)

I mean she also experienced some alteration/feminizing of her bone structure. But she too had low T. I expect for such to happen is rather rare, but it's not unheard of.
