Yesterday the wife and the daughter and one of her girlfriends was playing Buzz on their PS3.... I love that game... and I had my normal male profile.... but my daughter said that were playing an all girls match and I had change genders and pick out a female avatar.... of coarse my wife wasn't too happy but couldn't say anything.... I was smiling ear to ear...._ changed from a male super hero to the cheerleader! lol. We played a couple games and when we went home I left my avatar unchanged!... I did simply horrid but it was them most fun... the daughter kept making cracks on how cute I was.....

Maybe if my wife gets used to seeing my game avatar enfemme.... yeah right.... anyone else have females for their game avatars?

That was really cute of your daughter Karen. You might be right about your wife getting used to it. Or perhaps looking at gender as a non issue with your daughter and it may just get her to thinking...Hey, we can hope so!

I am not familiar with Buzz or ever played on a PS3, but I do have a female avatar on my computer game by Hoyle for playing card games and Casino play.

I have a female avatar on my XBox Kinect. Mine is the main user profile, but no one has ever questioned why it's my name with a female avatar.

Yes, my primary avatars in Second Life, Inworldz, and Unreal are female (and of course you can only play as Laura Croft in that series)

Back in the day, I was really into the unreal tournament series. I always used a female avatar online. And I crushed every dude unlucky enough to get in my way. ;-)

I am always a female character whe I play Heroes of Might & Magic. My SO rolls her eyes and tells me not to let my daughter see. Quite honestly it would be neat to be able to wear costumes like that. I kw my body was not meant for that, LOL. :heehee:

When I played World of Warcraft I played with female characters almost exclusively. Once or twice I tried making male characters, but I never enjoyed it enough to level them beyond level 15 or so (which, for those who are blessed to not know, is very low). Similarly in games like Guitar Hero, where I always chose female avatars, etc.

Why shouldn't your daughter see that? Isn't that a positive message to send out to your daughter, that you as a man don't find it uncool to play as a female character?

Well the first reason would be she does not know this portion of my life. Second I have tried and she has flat out told me it was creepy.

I assume it was nice to get the compliments, but how do you respond without giving too much away?

Did you leave your brain in your other avatar? Or were you so busy looking at your legs in the cheerleader outfit you were slow answering?

I played 2 years online poker and learned that often guys underestimate females. 2 years, pretty good bluff i would say :)

I usually select a female character on Guitar Hero. Just select "random rocker" until a female character appears...

I would kick ass as Vincent the super hero! Apparently being a perky cheerleader and answering correctly is much harder than I thought!

Geeee I feel extremely fortunate in the respect to the AVATAR I occupy, I have done a one time trip to the moon Pandora and was able to be trans-telepathically-ported into my new AVATAR strangely similar to the one I used to occupy but this time the game is ON and NO I am not blue!
I remember watching the movie and thinking to my self, of how extreme this truly is, as though we live through a dream an adventurous epic fiction of distant worlds and wonders beyond imagination.

By the way Karren, your avatar pic is rather, how do I say it, ravishingly seductive fembulousness!

Karren, I disn't display an avatar, although I played Texas Hold'em as Rebecca Lynne. As Lorileah pointed out, females are often treated differently than their male competitors; specifically, we are underestimated and frequently hit on.

Won a lotta tournaments, but don't play anymore since the Fed's interfered with on-line gaming...

Karren this was not what I expected at all!:bitchslap:

Well it is good that your daughter complimented you on being a pretty girl though.:) It might open some doors later!

I don't play video games much but I always chose the girls on Streetfighter, I always did better as a girl (wonder why?lol).

I've used female avatars in numerous games, but my favorite has always been playing as Morrigan the succubus in Capcom's "Darkstalkers." Felicia the cat girl from the same game is a close second.

I was going to do a female personna on Second Life, but I could never get the thing to run right on my computer (which crapped a month or 2 later). When I get it repaired or replaced, I may entertain the idea again...

Next time you're playing the game under the same circumstances and the wife is in the room just say out loud, I really don't know about being a girl but if I have to I will.
Then I dare you to look at your wife and not start laughing.

Karren from the west coast, you really had me with that "Forced to be a girl..." business. Now you know it's not easy being a cheerleader! I haven't played any games with a female avatar, but I do go on an online forum and use a female name.

It should be odd to play as a male character for most of us? I always play female but now use male because too many friends have asked why and i'm not ready to answer that. So I have mixed characters in Guild wars 2.

My xbox live avatar is a female. I've only had a couple of people comment on why I had a female avatar. I replied: It's my wife's account /or I'm so tired of looking at males all the time, I want to see females for once! / I have even replied: Why not have a female avatar, since I am a female? If people try to call me out that I sound like a guy I either ignore them or ask, 'Isn't it past your bedtime?'

Most of the characters I play in games are female. While my Gamer ID avatar on Xbox 360 is male, in games, if being female is an option, that's what I usually play.

I do that with my daughter too. She has a nintendo and everytime I pick the thing up she is already in the middle of a game so I just continue where she left off female avitar or not. The other day we were picking the avitar for the race car and I picked the female driver just for fun... without a second thought. It doesn't matter too me...actually the female character is kind of cute. I think my wife rolled her eyes though...and that's part of the fun...watching how other people react to a non-issue.

Does she still play with Barbie dolls? There's a "Barbie Shaving Fun Ken" doll suitable for a "transformation." Most girls don't like Ken in the mix, at least when my daughter played with dolls. :)

My primary avatar in Second Life is female. I used to rp on a college sim as the hot councelor. I even designed her to look like me (or as I wish I look en femme). I'll upload a pic of her tonight. Are there any other Second Lifers here? Drop me a line if you are and maybe we can meet inworld. :)

I usually select a female character in video games. In Second Life I have a few female avatars and one male avatar. I log in with my female avatars most often. Sometimes I log in with my male avatar when I want to be on voice or if I want to represent more accurately what my appearance is like in real life.

I notice a drastic difference in how other characters online interact with me depending on the character I am using. I wasn't really surprised that there is a difference in how my character is treated but rather what I found surprising is how extreme the difference is in many situations.

As far as friends commenting on how I usually select a female character, some do once in awhile. Occasionally someone I only through a computer network will be surprised when they discover I am male. Usually I don't entertain the topic in the first place with people I meet in a computer network unless we become good friends and I have usually let my hair down by then and he or she is suspicious anyway. Most people who know me as a male first know I genderbend and if they see me in person, I openly genderbend with my style daily so not very many are surprised. The typical questions are either something like, "Why are you playing as a girl?" or like, "Is that a girl you are playing?". Rarely, but sometimes, I get a question about what I think about playing a female character instead of playing a male character. I guess people who ask questions bluntly are just confused and don't know how to approach topics with which they are unfamiliar with tact. If I get a really inquisitive question I consider myself blessed that my friends want to know me better and have taken the time to learn how to have awkward conversations.

Regarding family members, my wife always thought it was cool that I liked to be and dress more effeminately than most men but she is a romanty-gothi so there was no surprise that she would treat my character decisions as a non-issue, but she does prefer me as an effeminate man. My parents, siblings, and their extended family all know I crossdress but out of respect I tone it down a lot when I am with them and would not choose a female character unless like Karren mentioned, someone would like me to play one.

One question Karren. Have you found yourself asking your daughter to play more, just so you can get on enfemme?

I take female avatars now. Most recent in Order and Chaos. Very sexy warrior.

Actually, just done my avatar for the Wi Fit in girl mode.

I used to have a slightly dumpy, balding male, but as I lost approx 30lb, it's only right I get a reward :)

The wife just raises her eyebrows.
