Wet shave

After shaving this morning, I put a ruler to my face to measure the distance I had shaved. It worked out at 3 feet, but as I shave certain bits twice, I reckon that my daily shave covers about 4 feet.
I have shaved daily for very many years, and when I calculated the total, I was staggered to find that I have scraped steel over my skin for 15 miles!
And I've still got a few years to go.
It would have been so nice to have been hair-free.

You have to be an engineer too? so is that 4 linear feet the width of a shaver head or 4 square feet? so what kind of milage go you get per blade.... sq ft/inch of razor?

I should have expected such a reply from you!
The figure quoted was in linear feet.
I have just measured the width of my razor at 1.375 inches.
That works out at 66 sq in of face per day.
A lifetimes total of over 9000 sq ft.
My razor mileage is 14 sq ft per inch.
After that lot, my slide rule is red hot.
I am an engineer!

I still have 3 slide rules and a 35 year old hp 11c with rpn.... personally if I only track blade life.... and yes I date everyone I use.... so far thanks to Clark
Howard im getting over 4 months per blade!

I've seen Clark Howard mentioned a couple of times now when discussing shaving, what's this all about as I'm in the UK and don't know much about him.

I've taken a quick peek at his webstie but can't find anything about razors.
