I normally just shave my legs during the fall and winter so it doesn't show. Then when the weather is warmer for shorts I have hair back on my legs. My question is I don't like to use a razor. I keep getting nics. But I tried Veet but it made my legs hurt. Does anyone have an easier way keep your legs smooth.

Veet burn my legs, Nair works fine for me,

I use a Phillips Men's Clipper below the lower thighs and a Quatro(POWER) everywhere else. Well, maybe either on the forearms.

Long time ago I tried to use Nair, to much hassle for me compared to shaving.

Have you tried differant razors? If I use cheap disposables, I get nicked up as well. I use a Venus Breeze now; I shave every day, and seldom get nicked.

You can also try using hair conditioner instead of shaving gel or cream.

Try an epilator...once you get past the initial use it's easy. Just remember to trim the hair short before you use it.

I usually keep my legs, chest, and pits shaved. I'm sure people have noticed, but nobody has commented negatively. It doesn't matter to me whether it's summer or winter. And yes, I wear shorts in the summer.

As to how to remove the hair, I've tried several ways:
- I've used Nair which takes too long, is messy, and smelly; but, leaves nice smooth skin
- I've used an electic body groomer (Phillips) which works good for Q&D, but doesn't leave the smoothness.
- I have used a small set of clippers too (usually just to get it trimmed to shave).
- Obviously, a razor.

I haven't tried an epilator.

I always come back to the razor. I use a good one (Mach III) and rarely get nicks.

I also use a set of clippers on my arms with a short guard. I've also tried bleaching my arm hair with good results using the products that GGs use on mustache and other problem areas.

I agree with several of the other responses to your question, but I will add a detail or two. If you use a razor designed for leg-shaving women, you are unlikely to nick yourself. The Gillette Venus, for example, has three small blades surrounded by soft material. That design would not be good for shaving the relatively coarse hair of your face; but for shaving the finer hair of your legs it is very good. The pivoting head also adds to the comfort and nick-prevention features of that razor.

As for what to do during the summer months when you want to wear men’s shorts without exposing your beautiful feminine legs, there is no perfect answer; however, you can trim leg hair with hair clippers (or beard trimmers), using (say) a ¼ inch guide comb. If your hair is trimmed, it is less noticeable when you want to look feminine, but it still is within the acceptable range when you want to look masculine. Leg hair of about ¼ inch in length is practically invisible under pantyhose — of course, pantyhose is less agreeable than bare legs when it’s 90°F outside. But the point is that there are compromises that are better than doing nothing.

Does anyone get good results from Nair when the hair is shorter? I usually find it's more of an initial "n-bomb" to get the bulk then afterwards normal shaving. But shaving my chest is still very nicks-and-bumps even afterwards. Guess I should go for a good Venus razor or something rather than Nair daily/bi-daily (that's a lot of $$$ to be spent on Nair)

I used to fill my tub with warm water, soak, lather rub pad and mild body wash. I scrub lightly and when I feel my legs are nice and exfoliated I begin to shave. After shaving I use Hibiclense. This kills any germs that may cause any rash and pimples later. Lotion without scent is best to moisturize.

Thank you ladies. I will try some of these ideas. I would love to go hairless during summer months so I'm going to have to shop for new razors.

I have been shaving my entire torso with a Gillette Venus razor for the last ten years and have had no problems with skin irritation. I always follow up with a liberal application of body moisurizer.

I've been epilating for the last seven months. Legs, and chest down to the bikini line. I wear shorts, etc all the time. I'll never go back to shaving.

I'm in the same position. I can only shave my legs during the cold weather months when it's not noticed here in the Midwest. I do shave in the shower with a Bic shaver using Neutrogena pump soap as a vehicle, and just LOVE the scent of Neutrogena!

There's nothing like close shaved legs with Hanes Silk Reflections pantyhose under a half slip and a lined skirt..... With pumps to boost!

Hi Amanda, Once you try an Eppilator you'll never want to go back to a razor.
