So I've taken a few more steps in my transition and I thought I would share.

I went to the court for a name change a little while ago, and now the judgement has been signed by the judge and I need only to wait for the end of this month to remove the name change posting, fill out one more piece of paper and then it's officially done...Really totally finally done! I can hardly wait. :D

As well, I told my boss (who is already totally supportive and has talked to HR at length about this) that I have a date in mind for my official at work transition, about a month from today. In preparation for this, I've been telling all of my coworkers about what is to come. Everyone seems to be understanding and supportive. Things are just starting to feel so right for me.

And just today, I was clothes shopping with a girlfriend. Something I do in girl mode virtually all the time now. Anyway, I was trying on a cute lace top in the fitting room, and I must have been in a trance because I didn't recognize my own reflection in the mirror. All of my thoughts just suddenly turned to this girl in the mirror...I just thought she looked so pretty and free...

So when it finally hit me that I was actually looking at myself and not someone else, I just became ecstatic and I could not stop smiling. Suddenly, I could see that all of these steps I've been taking, HRT, electrolysis, name change, coming out at work, were really adding up into something wonderful. I was just so pleasantly reminded of why I am doing this, and in that one moment, everything made perfect sense to me.

Great news Jen. :hugs: Bet you can't wait for it to become fully official!

Sounds like you are going about your workplace transition in a thoughtful manner and I'm sure your work colleagues will appreciate that.

That girl in the mirror was the real you being set free at last!

My Dear, if you only knew the wonders, excitement, joys, disappointment, and challenges that lie before you. Heck you would even feel safe buying a lotto ticket. ;)
