I am curious, what is your favorite sleepwear? What makes you feel the most comfy when you sleep? Do you sleep in drab, something silky and sexy, something plain, and conservative? Do you sleep alone or with someone, and is this a factor in what you wear to bed? Perhaps you have children in the home, and cannot wear what you want until you are tucked into bed, and have to change upon waking in the morning? Just a fun curiosity post :)

I myself prefer the simple, and comfy long t shirt and panties. This is comfy, easy to wear, I have a small child in the house, so I just wear shorts until I go to bed, pull them off, and boom, I'm in my sleepwear LOL :) If anything, it is the panties I choose for the day that gives me the most problem, meaning silky, cotton or otherwise. I would really much prefer a longer nightgown, but I have yet to purchase one as I am so comfy in my t-shirt and undies. If I wear a bra to bed, it is usually just a sports bra or something similar, not too restricting, and uncomfy, but something where I can feel the support and know its there :)

ok girls, your turn... let's hear it ^_^

Back n the 60's and 70's I always wore baby dolls , but then they went from basic sleep outfits to sheer and lacy and frankly more of sexwear than sleepwear. Then I went to long nightgowns, ankle length. I still wear those from time to time but for probably the past 10 years or so it has been chemise nighties for this gurl! :)

I prefer a long gown. They take some getting used to, because they don't roll over with you. Satin seems to work best because it slides around. If you go with cotton, you may have to get up several times to untwist. I can't sleep without forms and panties, just feels all wrong.
Satin floor length nightgowns are getting hard to find. I asked the sa at victorias secret about that and she said it was just a trend away from them, but they still sell them online in the bridal section.

I have a satin short gown that I wear to bed, now with my forms. The gown has a matching kimono style (long sleeves, short hem) robe and more than once I've fallen asleep with the robe still on. It was actually pretty nice.

I wear satin pyjamas so as I can slide around in bed.
Cotton and flannelette just choke me all over.

I've tried the satiny gowns and, you're right, they don't allow me to move naturally at night. What you need is something made of a more stretchy material. I have two favorites: Miss Elaine Silk Essence and Shadowline. They are Nylon Tricot and they are super. I have been wearing them for years.

Slightly off topic: I even converted my wife from T-shirts to Miss Elaine. I had been wearing them for quite a long time when I asked her if she would like to try on one of mine. She did and was hooked. We wear matching Miss Elaines to bed nearly every night. I wouldn't trade that for the world.

Depends on the weather.
Summer time is usually a chemise or sleep top over my Genie bra and forms with a pair of panties.
Cooler weather I prefer either a long gown or perhaps some modal or satin like pj's. Mostly depends on my mood.

My wife and I both sleep in the nude. I've slept in a bra and forms a couple times when she was out of town but I sleep better without them.

I like wearing panties and tights when I sleep alone, when I stay over my SO's though it's regular boxer shorts. I'd like to get a nightie or some kind eventually that sounds like it would be great.

Karen you just brought back some terrific memories with you reference to baby doll pj's from the 70's. I use to steal my sisters, white with little purple flowers and a cute eyelet trim around the edges and around the leg openings. The panties were almost like a bloomer but they felt so wonderful. I would give anything to find them again. Today's baby dolls are all sheer skimpy things with thong or g strings. I keep looking but just have not found any.

In answer to the original question, I wear a long T shirt with brief panties.

It depends on whether others are going to see me. For a number of years, the Southern Comfort Conference (SCC) had pajama parties as a part of their schedule — I don’t believe they’ve had those for a couple of years. Instead they now have an unnamed event in an upper floor ballroom of the host hotel, with a bar, a band, and dance music. Anyway, when they called it a “pajama party,” most CD’s who attended wore some sort of sleepwear. I purchased two Victoria’s Secret cotton sleep shirts, which are essentially V-neck t-shirts of mid-thigh length, with three-quarter length sleeves. As you would expect from Victoria’s Secret, they are sexy looking. Mid-thigh is comparable to a short miniskirt. For pajama parties or similar events, that is my favorite sleepwear! It is a chance to be an exhibitionist!

At the risk of seeming dull, I have little preference for actually sleeping. I drop off to sleep fairly quickly and sleep until my alarm goes off in the morning. Almost any garment would be equally acceptable, because I’m not awake enough to enjoy the look or feel of whatever I’m wearing. I usually sleep alone, but if some sex-crazed partner wanted to join me … LOL. :D

When it is warm (most of the year in the Dallas Tx area) I like to wear ankle length silky (actually synthetic) nightgowns. In the wintertime I like to wear a long flannel nightgown.

I don't wear breast forms since I have natural B cup breasts and it feels so good not to have a bra on when I sleep,

My favorite is a floor length vivid red nightgown with an empire waist. I usually wear it with a matching pair of red panties and red bra. Also, depending on the weather, I will don a pair of jet black thigh highs. My daytime 'breast enhancers' would not work well, so I resort to my oldest method of enhancement is a Nerf ball cut in half. When rolling over nothing will 'pop.' :)

On my own, I usually wear nothing. Since my GF and i got together, when i sleep at her place, she usally sleeps in panties and T-shirt, and as she often only has a light sheet, i follow suit. So far, the panties have often ended up on the floor. As Winter increases its grip, we may use heavier items. Occasionally before I met her, I'd wear thigh highs and other items when, erm... "entertaining" myself. :o

My feminine sleepwear consists of everything from pajamas, to nightshirts, to really slinky chemises with matching panties. I have a few cotton nighties which are cool for summertime but I would rather feel the silky smoothness of a full length nylon, or satin nightgown when I hit the sack. I live alone, so I sleep alone which allows me to wear any feminine item to bed any time I want. I almost always sleep in my bra and forms too.

Some of you have mentioned missing the "1970s" style babydoll pajamas. I liked them too so I've "improvised" a little and am pretty satisfied with the outcome.

The two sets pictured here are available from Woman Within. I simply find panties to match, color-wise, and save the bottoms for when it really gets cold.

It's not quite the same but beats most anything else on the market in terms of "traditional" style babydolls.

Sometimes I go to sleep in just a slip with pantyhose or tights or leggings. I tried wearing bras, but they kept moving or after awhile became uncomfortable(too tight) so I stopped. I don't know how some folks do it. There have been times when I fell asleep fully dressed while reading or watching TV and things got twisted or tight.

Favorite sleepwear can be satin or very soft cotton chemise (mid or high thigh) with of course some sexy nylon or lace panties which I try to match with the top. I tend to prefer the fitting soft cotton over satin for simply being able to move more freely as the satin robes are even more tailored to fit. I have a few knee length robes for winter nights.

During the summer I don't wear anything, and hardly cover myself with a sheet (it tends to get quite hot without A/C). In the fall I wear a big T-shirt and panties, and when the winter comes around my fluffy PJ pants come out (along with the extra comforter, the heat doesn't work too well, heh).

To answer all the parts:

I sleep alone. I do not have to worry about anyone coming in, though I do live at home with my parents and sisters. I sleep in boy shorts (not the under wear but like basketball shorts) and no shirts. I like to be cold when I sleep. I haven't met anyone who actually likes to be cold when they sleep. Usually, people are all bundled up. I live in upstate NY and winters are very cold here.

For the record, I CAN NOT sleep without a fan turned on. I have tried sleeping without a fan before and it is just impossible. I have a nice industrial fan from Home Depot that I love. It is nice and loud, blocking out all other sounds :D

WOW!!! So many various responses, I love them all! I see such a wide variety of what people like to sleep in, but I see a growing pattern among the answers. It would seem that some sort of knee or thigh length shirt, gown or slip, with panties, or pantyhose seems to be the most popular answer. For those who included, " don't think this is weird", or any derivative of that in there posts, please don't think that what you sleep in or wear is weird. What makes you the most comfy is perfectly ok, and if you like it, damn everyone else lol. Thank you all for answering, and participating :) I love you all! MUAH!!!!

Fortunately for me, I have my boys every other weekend for overnights. When they get picked up after dinner during the days that i watch them, I take a nice relaxing bath or shower and slip into a comfortable bra, then into any of my many nightshirts (for some reason, i just love wearing these more than anything else). WHen the boys are here for the night I wear a cami tshirt and the one pair of boy pajama's I have in my drawers. I keep the robe they had gotten me for xmas several years ago on the door so if i have to jump up, then I am covered.

I have a nice collection of Olga nightgowns that I wear during warm weather, in cold months I generally wear long flannel nightgowns. I also have a few sets of microfiber fleece PJ's that are wonderfully soft and warm in the cold. My pajama bottoms always ride up to my thighs so its like wearing shorts and not much warmth there. My biggest complaint with pajamas. I generally prefer gowns.

The closest I can figure, I've been sleeping in a nightgown every night for the past 30 or so years (with the exception of maybe 2-3 night per year for various reasons like house-guests staying over).

I remember when I started how I was constantly aware of being in a night gowns. The way it flowed around me, how to arrange it under me when I got into bed, how to move in bed while preventing it from 'riding up' during the night. Every morning was a little treat as I rolled out of bed and looked down to see the colorful soft gown over my legs, still warm from the nights' sleep. (I'm sure I look like some suburban housewife, floral print cotton night gown peaking out from beneath the hem and at the neckline of my fuzzy bathrobe!)

Now, some 10,000+ nights later I barely give it a thought except to be thankful for the extra warmth as I go downstairs in the morning. When going to bed, I just crawl between the sheets, doing so in a way that keeps the gown over my legs is so much 2nd nature that it never even enters my mind what I'm doing (much like a woman who has the habit of smoothing her skirt under her as she sits, without needing to think about doing it).

As far as WHAT I wear, I have several nightgowns depending on weather. Everything from ankle-length flannel with a turtleneck for those LONG cold New England nights, to lighter knee-length cotton nighties, to a few 'baby-doll' sets and lacy tricot sheer gowns for hot Summer nights. These, and just about everything in between.

On REALLY cold nights (it gets to -20F here many times in the Winter, and we let the heat dip pretty low inside overnight), I put on my heaviest flannel gown over black tights... all under a down comforter on the bed. Nothing like being toasty warm when you know it is so cold outside!

I've found that I get a year or so's use out of each one, so 'picking up a new night gown' is often on our shopping list when my wife and I go to the department store.
