Hi girls! I am so excited! I am out now as Emily in most aspects of my life. I am officially diagnosed with gender identity disorder/gender dysphoria and I am now on the right track. I am transitioning in the workplace at my new job which I love. I am an accountant/cpa and i am thrilled to be working for such a wonderful organization. I am working things out with my wife and family and committed to our relationship and to my son.

I have also been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome which to me is not really a surprise. I kind of suspected it all along and my son is also diagnosed with the same condition of AS.

I am out dressing full time and when I go shopping i am referred to as miss and that makes me feel wonderful.

It is amazing to be out and to blend in. I pass and am using the ladies room and am having the time of my life.

As far as surgery and all that, I would love to do it but at this point can not see it happening as I have to save for my son's college and sex change operations are very expensive!

If someone can offer advice on affordable and reputable SRS I would love to know more.

Thank you!

Love to all!

Emily

Good for you, it sure is a good feeling to just be who you are. To blend in or "living still" is quite important to many of us and I'm glad you seem to be accepted. Perhaps it is just a little bit unfair to you that you are based in the US, over here in Europe I have the option of getting SRS for free in at least 4 countries (and probably all in the union), have you looked into Thailand or India at all? I hear a lot about Thailand and I go there several times a year so I will check this out next time. I can recall several Thai surgeons' names being mentioned in the forum.

Giovanna/Johanna,
Thank you for your advice and for your words of encouragement. Yes, I heard about Thailand and certainly would welcome further information. If you can stay in touch we can become friends and we can discuss this further. i am most appreciative! I wish you all my best!
Love,

Emily

Yep, sure no worries - I'll PM you and if I don't forget I'll go n one of the main UK TS sites as some people I met there have been to Thailand to do their GRS there.

Hi Emmi, I have read and heard that Thailand is the place to go for SRS. The cost of the procedure is about half of what it would cost here and they are better at it. Good luck to you in any decision that you make.

Hi Emmi,

If you do a few searches here, and in Safe Haven you'll find thousands of posts about SRS -- answering every question you might have. Good luck in your new job !

Hi Emily,

I am so happy to hear things are going well, I suspect a welcome change from just a few months ago. I don't have any suggestions for SRS, just wanted to pass along best wishes.
