View Full Version : Baring your midriff and/or navel while dressing?

One thing I've noticed about GGs is that many are not opposed to allowing some of their midriff to show when wearing clothes. I would say that it mostly applies to GGs who are in their teens and twenties (since getting your navel pierced is also popular within this age range), and it is more common with girls who are slim than those who are overweight. Some girls deliberately try to show of their stomachs by wearing cut-off shirts and crop tops, while others do it without being fully conscious of it - they may be wearing a shirt that's just slightly too small for them so that their midriff/navel shows when they stretch or lie down. But whatever the reason, I find it really cute and attractive when a girl with a nice stomach wears clothes that shows it off, even if it's very subtle, like if the shirt goes up only an inch or so and you can see the dangly bit of a navel piercing poking out from underneath the shirt.

To the CDs on here, how do you feel about baring your midriff? Have you ever knowingly bought shirts that are a little tighter than usual so that you would be able to show some of your stomach? Also, for those of you who have larger stomachs, have you wanted to have a smaller, more feminine stomach for this purpose? One of my ideal "looks" is that of a cute, innocent girl who wears clothes that bares the midriff from time to time (like when stretching), but doesn't give off the impression that she is trying to show off skin for the purpose of attracting attention.

I love to show off my midriff, work too hard to keep everything toned and flat to have it covered up. I only do this around the house though. The advantage of being male is I can go shirtless to show off my abs in public (grins).

Haha, yeah. It's a funny thing - it's not considered weird or anything (unless you're in certain venues that require a shirt and shoes) for a male to go shirtless in public. But it's considered unusual, at least where I live in America, for a man to wear a shirt that exposes the midriff. I know it was different in the 80s, though, because I've seen videos and picture from the 80s where men are wearing those kinds of shirts.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit too thick around the middle, and probably a lot too old (55), to pull off the bare midriff look anymore. A corset helps with the figure when I'm fully covered, but is not meant to be seen either. If I'd only known in my 20s what I know now ...

I agree with Diane. I'm over 60. WAY TOO OLD to show my abbs off!
To answer the OP, "If you've got it, flaunt it!":D

Sherry, you've got it, and definitely deserve to flaunt it!

I'd love a flat tummy and a navel piercing, but I'm pretty sure it'd be one of those in private type of things.
Not that I would be ashamed, it's just that it's not my style and doesn't fit me as a person.

That and those ungodly stretch marks on my belly, ugh.
:P

I have to go with Diane on this one. Back in my 20's when maybe I had the figure to do it I might have been done it but it was far from the fashion back then. :) Nowadays I just hope the waist cincher pulls me in enough so I dn't have to resort to a corset! :D

These days there is no cute and innocent, shapely girl to flaunt it. :)

If I had the shape for it I would do it. No one wants to look at my midriff these days....lol.

I can still bare my midriff, but don't do it as often as I used to. Generally, I do it now when I'm dressed, but occassionally do it in boy mode depending on where I'm going and how I'm feeling. As Sveta said quite a few guys were baring their midriffs in the 80's and I was one of them. I had several cut off sweatshirts that only covered my chest exposing all of my midriff. I usually wore really tight cut off denim shorts or high cut running shorts with them. I have a couple of these shirts now and will wear them with short spandex booty shorts. I'll dress like this for the beach or if I'm in a part of town or at an event where it is acceptable like the LGBT parade. Nowadays, this look is much easier to pull off in girl mode than boy mode though. I miss the old days. :(

I would love some tips in toning up my midriff. I am naturally skinny but am becoming skinny fat. I need to tone.

What if you don't got it, flaunt it anyway?

My avatar is me, and that's how you'll find me most of the time, when I step out I'll toss a short Tshirt or this time a year a hoody and leave it unzipped ;-)

"...how do you feel about baring your midriff?" Fine w/it ;)
"Have you ever knowingly bought shirts that are a little tighter than usual so that you would be able to show some of your stomach?" No, just tops that are designed that way. I mean, it's in-style for summertime, ya know?

I think bare midriffs are fine for petite young hard bodies. For people my age...not so much :(

Sveta I like showing it on ocassion, love to have the feel of the fresh air over bare skin, some times when I shave that area I leave a little line of hair at the edge. Just enough to raise a little question of girl or guy if I strech just right. Just to see reaction once in awhile not an regular thing. Wife won't let shave all over sadly would love too.

This thread got me to thinking so I found a mirror and began checking around for my navel. Yep! It is still there. It was a little bashful from hiding all these years. Does this give a picture as to why I do not bare my belly.

I am working on toning my stomach just for that reason...well also to be slimmer the rest of the time. I would also love to have a pierced naval, but SO would not go for that.lol. I have thought about gluing on in place for temorary looks. I'm 50, but think I could carry it off pretty well. Sherry, you definently can do it. I like to have fun age wise when dressing.

I don't get to go out dressed. I am slim enough and maybe just young enough (29) to show it off should i go out. I do have a couple of crop tops i like to wear at home though.
I'd love to have my navel pierced.
