I had my first visit to a therapist today. I had a incident while out dressed last week, and I finally came to a conclusion. Let me explain. My SO and I went to dinner at a popular local pub. Not a chain. We ordered, and had a couple of drinks. I needed to go to the bathroom, and naturally I used the ladies. When I came out of the stall, a waitress asked me a question. I answered best I could. By the time I was finished washing me hands, a manager was at the door (male) asked me what I was doing, and I said using the batroom, and he said not here. I walked past him back to my seat. When our waitress came by, I asked to see the manager. I told him I was transitioning, and asked him what bathroom did he want me to use. He said I should not use the men's and I agreed. Then I asked him if he would rather we not come back, and he said he didn't want to loose our business. Well I did alot of thinking since then, and went to a therapist today. I have been diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder. I knew that, but now I have a new destination. We will discuss my issues, wich may lead to transition. I am along way from it, but I am ready to start down the path.

Well that's quite a decision after one visit. Was it this therapist who gave you a GID diagnosis? And what prompted you to aim for transition? Is it something you've been thinking of? Your prior posts don't mention that.

It has been on my mind for years. I came to the conclusion, that the time is right. I do not know where I will end up, as it is too early.
