My sister called me a few hours to tell me my mother had slipped and the EMT's thought she may have broken her hip so she was headed to the emergency room and wanted me o meet her there. I was just startingto get ready for bed whn it happened so I just grabbed my black floral skirt, red turtleneck sweater, and my black knee high boots and off I went. 2 hours later after waiting, yes she had broken her hip  so we had to fill out the admission forms where I listed myself as acontact, yes my male name and phone number. The nurse never batted an eyelash when she asked who each contact was. :battingeyelashes:

Seeing as my sistr had rode in the ambulance I had to take her home and we stopped at Denny's for a bite as my sister had missed dinner. The onlycomment there was from the cashier who told me it was a cute skirt and asked where I got it. When I lived in the San Francisco area I never had a qualm of going out, guess the Detroit area has come a long way! :D

I hope your mother is going to be alright. Did your family already know about your dressing? Sounds like your sister was accepting it.

Both my sister and Mother have known for a long time. I told my sister probably 20 years ago and my mother shortly after that.

Well the only worry here is that your mother recovers quickly.
All the best.

So sorry to hear about your mother! I hope everything turns out ok with her!
Isn't it nice to go out and be yourself!

First, I hope all goes well for your mother. Second, it's great that all went well with other people.

In your post you mention "black floral skirt, red turtleneck sweater, and my black knee high boots ". I'm curious, what else were you wearing? Wig? Forms? Makeup or at least clean shaven? In otherwords, were you presenting as a female or a "man in a dress"?

My prayers for your mother - I think the Detroit area has come along way in acceptance

Linda, I was fully dressed, wig, forms, and the appropriate underpinnings.
