I think I'm in the minority on this one, but when dressed I can't stop thinking about crop dusters.
Don't get me wrong, sailplanes are pretty cute but I'm just not into them in that way.

As I'm sure you know, biplanes can be quite good at acrobatics and get themselves into oh so many positions. Yum!

For me it's Godzilla movies. The ones with the bad dubbing.

Yeah, just watch out for the twin Spandaus mounted on the cowling. They can spit lead so fast that they'll tear you to shreds in a heartbeat...;)

And I'm not talking about Spandau Ballet...although - in keeping with the aeronautical theme here - they were featured on the soundtrack of Top Gun, one of my all-time favorite movies despite the cheesy plot...

Being of the swanish persuasion, things with four wings are usually Bad News for me. No, what gets me is those sexy seagulls!

Oh I don't know about them new fangled flying machines
I'm more into something a little more heavy duty
like a 4,400 HP 440,000 LB diesel locomotive

Sorry, but open cockpits muss my hair. I think that I'd prefer a Beech Staggerwing:

So would you say you're bi ... lingual when dressed?

Sorry, but open cockpits muss my hair.

open cockpits = easy access!
(And speaking of movies, how about when Indiana Jones found a huge snake in an open cockpit?)

One of my first flights was in a Beech Staggerwing; LOVE "EM! And Stearmans, and Wacos, and Fleets, etc. Before I lost my previous job, I was planning to build a Nieuport 17 kit. But, if I win the lotto tonight, I'm going to buy a P-51. Not too sure I could handle it in mini and 5 inch heels, though!

I used to love playing Flight Simulator when I was a kid.
I was a very, very weird kid.

Heh... fun thread...

I'm a fan of the Thomas Crown Affair (both versions) particularly for the glider scenes. I love the moment in the recent version where they land and she notes something to the effect of "nice flight, too bad our cars are four states away". Definitely a case where the respin out did the original. (The Catamaran scene is equally epic and out did the golf swing in the original by several orders of magnitude).

That said, one long time dream is to fly dressed. Now understand I don't pass at all, still the idea of several hours dressed and miles from the nearest viewer appeals. Trouble is the ground time at each end in view of anyone within miles.

I've done it a few times covering the skirt and lace cami top with "easily" removed sweats and T-shirt. These are removed after preflight and before engine start, then restored before emerging from the plane. Wish these measures aren't necessary but I have several acquaintances on the field I'd prefer not to know.

$.02. Glad to share

*the term "easily" takes on new meaning when talking about an interior volume approximating a 1965 VW Beetle.

Me too! I also love the Gamera movies.

We have a match! Game over! Gamera lovers are not a minority, we have two of us, we're the current majority!

Probably the first time Gamera has won a majority outside of Japan!

Go Gamera!

though my fling with a Citabria was a lot of fun I did start to feel queasy after about an hour but not until the 3rd or 4th time. Personally I'd prefer a Husky for a long term relationship.

Yes! I literally burst out laughing at this. Let me also say, Mothra and the tiny singing twins also rate as CLASSIC.
