For those of you that may not be aware, the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association is an organization of over 1000 physicians and other health care providers whose mission it is to advance the education, development, and support of best practices in the treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. I am attending the GLMA annual conference in San Francisco this week, and I am very pleased to report that much of the content, more than half, is specifically related to trans health issues. Topics range from the management of hrt, what's new in GRS, to best practices in systems of care for trans people. While the challenges facing our community in accessing competent, effective, compassionate health care, progress is being made. For those of you who may be seeking an lgbt competent provider, the GLMA provider website (https://glmaimpak.networkats.com/members_online_new/members/dir_provider.asp) can point you in the right direction
