Ahh, you're on short time now! Pay attention to maintaining good health. Now is not the time to mingle with a lot of people and possibly catch something.

So cool, Traci!

Funny, but just a couple of hours ago I was thinking about how close "the day" is getting for you. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "VJ Day!"

Hugs,
Persephone.

Isn't Mai Rachel's Thai wife? She was my standby had Noi not been available. Yes, indeed it is a very small world except my fricken total flight over there including layovers is 35.5 hours. Now that sucks especially when your fight is less than an hour!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Thank all of you for your kind and thoughtful words. It really does mean a lot to me and yes it is "tic toc" time to lose my birth defect!

Yes Traci, Mai is Rachel's spouse and she's a wonderful woman.
Be sure to enjoy your time there. Do some shopping at MKS mall or have her take you to the river mall. Temple City and the Ancient City are worth the trip to see also. OH.. and be sure you get out to a Thai BBQ for dinner. It's an amazing experience and great food.

Give Mai my love, and please give my daughter Noi a big hug from "mom".

Have a safe trip. I know you're in good hands there. Congratulations

Here is my Itinerary for my SRS with Dr. Saran in Thailand in 2 weeks time for those who might be interested.

DAY 1 - Arrive in Bangkok Airport. Meet with Doctor Saran staff and be escorted to the Hotel.

DAY 2 - Hospital Pre-surgery night in the deluxe private suite in Hospital (www.piyavate.com (http://www.piyavate.com))

DAY 3 - Appointment with our doctor for clinical interview/consultation.
Check medical documents
Psychiatric tests (if necessary)

Admission to Hospital. You will be requested to sign hospital consent forms.
A nurse will come to clean and shave your genital area after you have showered.
Afterwards, your perineum will be shaved before surgery. You will be given enema.
Surgery takes about three hours.

DAY 4-6 - Upon waking up, you will be able to eat a regular meal. Feel free to move in bed.
Do not be alarmed by the catheter for urine or the drainage tube which may contain blood.
These objects will be removed within twenty-four hours. You might feel like you need to
urinate, but this is irritation caused by the urine catheter. Pain is usually minimum only
lasts for the first twenty-four hours. Afterwards, the pain will gradually subside.
A nurse will come & bath you twice a day and change your bedding as often as necessary

DAY 7 - Our doctor will come and remove the dressing and bandages. Upon
checking the results you may leave the hospital and check in to your chosen
hotel. Otherwise you can continue your stay at the hospital until departure.

DAY 7-11 - These five days should be spent for resting.

DAY 12 - Sightseeing or shopping.

DAY 13 - If you were at your chosen hotel. Please return to the hospital where
the doctor will remove sutures from the labia and do a final examination.

You will receive a final post-operative recovery check up and some medications. You will
also receive a medical certificate that authenticates the surgery & recommends that you
receive a legal change of sex. This certificate can be laminated at a photo finishing shop.

DAY 14-20 - Sightseeing, Photography & Research for a Trans Health Australia Project

Day 21 - Transfer to Bangkok Airport for Departure.

Melody - just a suggestion, that itinerary {post surgically} is fairly tight. Keep in mind everyone heals at their own rate and you may find that much shopping 10 days post op is a bit tiring. Let your body tell you when it is time for what. Mother Nature knows best !!

GOOD luck to both of you ;) You are in my prayers ( which may work in this case because I'm a Buddhist )

Wow! I know Rachel King from Karratha in Western Australia, she is also a Facebook friend, but
I never made that association until just now about Mai was her partner. So it really is a small world.
Noi will be Traci's caregiver, I hope to have Mai looking after me.
