Has anyone seen the show Project Runway?
One of the male contestants wears a dress the day of the runway showing.

Runway! We watch that every week. I have learned SO MUCH about building and assembling outfits, accessorizing, and just overall what's happening with fashion. It gets catty, but overall there is a tremendous amount of talent on the show this year.

Also there are all sorts of gender bending activities going on!

We have watched all 9 previous seasons and this as well. Would love to have some of them make something for me and be one of their "clients" for a show. Walking the runway would be such a thrill.
I would just be a bit worried about Nina's comments...

What episode was this? Can we see it on their website?

You can watch full episodes at mylifetime.com, and the designer is Fabio Costa, who has worn dresses and skirts throughout the current season (which is season 10).

Just this week, I saw an episode of "Say Yes to the Dress" (probably a re-run), which featured a prospective bride and her entourage of bridesmaids. One of them was identified as a "drag queen" but that was likely more for public consumption - and to give viewers something "non-threatening" that they could connect with. To my mind, she was just a slightly over-the-top, run-of-the-mill crossdresser.

The show was done in an overall respectful and light-heated manner, and save for a couple of "verrrry interesting" type comments by the bridal shop owner, everyone acted as if this was the most normal thing in the world.

Of course, the fact that the wedding fashion consultant himself was an overtly gay male and "in" on the unusual bridal party's quest added to the surreal nature of the encounter. In fact, even the GG members themselves were not exactly mainstream either, both in their in-your-face behavior and the fact that they were heavily tattooed, as well as the manner in which they were dressed when they first came into the shop.

An eclectic group, to say the least, but apparently they were all good friends and had transcended the confines of strictly adhered-to traditional concepts of sexual and gender orientation. But it was all in good fun, and everyone had a good time.
