Hello again! I know its been a long time since my first thread about our holiday in France but here goes, the place its self was very quiet and rural just a few cottages around us and just a few miles from a small village, I hadnt been out in the daytime before but was hoping to get out a least once. We had been there about a week I had been Jo quite alot, the garden was very private and I had no worries I felt more relaxed and confident than ever in my life, at this stage I must say I have the best wife in the world she accepts me for who I am, she was like me chilled by the second week. We went to a market in man mode when buying some cheese I was mistaken for a Madam! I did have shorts a nice teeshirt and sunglasses on , but that was the sign, next day we were out around lunch time as two woman. We parked on the edge of a small market town and walked into the town centre, I had a summer maxi dress on with flip flops and a nice new bag with my stuff in it, I could'nt beleive how easy it was nobody batted an eyelid ,we walked up to an old ruin and walked amongs other tourists I was in heaven. On the way back to the car I got really daring and we stopped off in a small pizza place and had lunch, the waitress was lovely and I'm sure I passed, on the way home we needed some provisions so why not I thought so we did a supermarket shop! when we got back to our cottage I was like putty all my deams had come true I'd done it. The day after next we travelled to our nearest City and had a lovely day there as Jo, and after that there was no stopping me, we were going to get some bits from the local village shop and I said,I'll go so I went out all by by myself! and on the way home I called at a small local bar and sat outside with a glass of wine , bliss. so there you have it, one lucky girl with a wife in a million and a holiday to remember and by the way, we booked it for next year again.

Jo xxxx

France truly have wonderful places. If you liked it you should try also northern Spain!

You look pretty passable in that picture but the important thing was that you and your wife found the confidence to get out and enjoy yourselves!

Sounds like a great vacation Jo! Sometimes it isn't as hard as we think it will be. You need to keep those dreams coming as they sure sounds like good ones. And give your wife a hug for us.

Never bothered dressing in France considering their hostility towards US citizens.
If you attempt a little french they can be quite hospitable.
I have not been south of a line through Paris tho, so maybe in the south they are more hospitable.
