View Full Version : This might be a long day...

So, I went shopping last Friday, and one of the things I bought was a new bra. This time of year, I usually wear one under my shirt to work (with cooler days, I can wear heavier shirts, hiding any bra lines).

Well, just got to work an hour ago and have already determined that the thing is killing me! Something about it just does not fit right and it is pinching like crazy under the arms. :(

On a normal day, I'd just go into the mens room and take it off... but I'm at a conference all day and have little privacy. If I DID take it off, I have no place to 'hide' it until the end of the day (it is pretty bulky, and underwire...so I can't just stuff it into a pocket).

So now I'm just counting the hours until I can take it off, and trying NOT to reach up every few minutes to fiddle with it to make it more comfortable!

OK, enough of a rant (and a lot of typing on my phone!), back to watching the boring Powerpoint presentation. ALMOST as painful as this bra!

In for a Penny in for a Pound , many of our natal sisters have had this very problem. Enjoy the fact that you now belong to the I hate my bra club.

Just take it off in the men's stall and leave it hanging on the hook on the back of the door...lol.

Now you know why some of us like to get them fitted.
Sometimes....The joy of wearing a bra. :)

I know that can be very irrertaiting from my own experiance! Being fitted makes a big differance! I wear one 24/7 and never had a problem since being proper fitted!

Why don't you just take it off and take it to your car? 0.0?

It is a conference pretty far away from my office. Used public transportation to get there.

Well, the day is finally over and now I finally understand the RELIEF of taking off a bra after a long day! I went against my self-imposed rule against buying one that looks pretty (lace and satin) instead of one that was comfortable.

At least it isn't a total loss... when I have forms in it, it fits differently and doesn't bind and cut into me. So I can still enjoy it, but only when wearing forms.

I guess this is the downside of department store shopping. The place I'd bought it from (Kohl's) has hundreds of bra styles and you really are taking a chance on what is going to fit well and feel good. You don't really know even from trying it on, it sometimes takes an hour or so for problems to make themselves known.

That is why usually when I find a bra that fits AND is comfortable, I usually go back to buy 2-3 more in different colors before it sells out and gets replaced by something else!

Cristi, I feel your pain. I wore a bra from Friday evening till Monday evening, except in the shower. A couple very pretty lace ones. Sunday evening I had to take it off for a few hours. A first for me. I usually feel sad when I have the take my bra off. This was the first time I ever felt the need to remove my bra.

I always hate breaking in a new bra, they are stiff and scratchy. Wash it a couple of times and that will make it more comfortable, provided it is the correct size for you. Hope it works out for you!!

OMG...easy answer. I was in your shoes? I'd step-out to a MBR, remove the thing, stash it in my pants...front pant...and be done with it for the day. I would NEVER 'trash it'....or 'Leave it'..God Forbid. Good money is good money, after all...and there http://www.freshdesignweb.com/jquery-mouseover.html

Two words should be indelibly etched into you psyche...NEVER PURGE! :)

My new mantra: do not purge! Never! Pack it away, and plan to sell it someday... Never purge!

Hahahahaha! Not so fast you! Here's my original quote. I never put that url in it!

LOLZ! I'm going to leave the link in because it's funny, but my phone was being crazy! I can't believe that got in there... Oh well, at least it wasn't a link to something embarrassing.... ::Giggles::

Well that's an easy one - just put it in your purse! :heehee:

My thoughts exactly Linda (the purse goes every where I go esp at a conference)

Take it off in the stall and just keep it under your shirt. Go to your car and put it in the trunk.
In the future wear new items at home first to make sure they don't drive you crazy before you put yourself in that situation.
