My MD wants me to take Calcium daily with Vitamin D. My back study showed some early Osteopenia. I tried another brand but had trouble swallowing the pills. Caltrate is a pretty pink color-which I find accepting and indentifiable. These are easier to swallow-maybe mental too.
Good to add these to your diet if you are 'on meds' and maybe aren't getting the benefit I understand T provides.
Thoughts?

Due to 20+ years on prednisone (for arthritis and myasthenia gravis), I have also developed osteopenia and am instructed to take calcium citrate with D daily. This is probably a good idea for people "of a certain age" on many different kinds of long-term medications that can promote bone loss. My case is far enough along that I also take prescription Fosamax (alendronate) every week. The pharmacist commented once that it was pretty unusual for a male to be buying that particular medicine, so I winked at him ...
I didn't know Caltrate came in pink, though! I generally buy the generic store brands to save a couple of bucks, but that may be too much to resist.

In the last few months, my wife's doctor and now my doctor have started promoting vitamin D for various purposes. Synergy with vitamin C and calcium for my wife and her mother; depression related for me.
