Despite the fact that I've been out since March I've still had to swap back to male mode frequently. It's not easy being a woman :) when you work as an engineer on an oil rig, however, when I got home on Wednesday I officially changed my name to Christine Jorja Dougan. On Thursday I went crazy at the sales and bough a ton of new clothes. The last part was to through out all those old drab clothes and despite a few wee reservations I've done it.

I'm happy to greet the world everyday as a woman, though I do have a few reservations getting through immigration dressed as a woman. All my work colleagues know and are looking forward to meeting Christine. I'm stunned by just how supportive a bunch or "rig pigs" are to me.

Had the same experiance at my job. The day came when it was time to get started on full time. I didn't know what would happen. I went to work a few questions nothing outragious. Then back to the normal everyday work . I believe that if you simply dress correctly for your job. No one really cares soon you just move on to who you are inside and out. Good luck with everything .

Ha ha, thank you Jorja. My old name was George, my fathers name. He was very important to me and I was going to go with something like Georgina, but in a flash of inspiration I decided Jorja was a perfect fit for me. That give me the initials CJD, you can make up your own jokes about that ;)

I just with my Dad was alive to see me now, despite being a very hard military man I know he would be proud of me for having the courage to stand up and be myself.

I have my name change hearing next Wednesday and still need to clean out my closet. Been shopping a couple times with a girl friend of mine from work and we're going again tomorrow. Still trying to get my work wardrobe put together and all I lack now are shoes and some more slacks and a few more skirts. Still need some more everyday clothes too, only have one pair of jeans and that's not enough when your full time. lol
