I've been following a local SteamPunk group on facebook. I'm not sure if anyone here is familiar with SteamPunk, but it's retro, futuristic, victorian, 19th century and kinda nerdy. I find it interesting because I can relate it to CDing: building and wearing a wardrobe, and pretending to have an alternate personality, for instance.
There was a yard sale for this group this afternoon and the SO is out of town. So I did my nails and put on a few trinkets. That's as far as I've ever gone out in public, because I still have my goatee. Anyway, there were some great looking corsetts on sale that I really wanted to try on, but settled for a pocket watch.
I talked with the gg that I bought the watch from. She has a store, and is head of the local group I think. I asked her name, and then she asked mine. I told her it was Jayne, and she misunderstood, Jay? I said, no, it's Jayne, as in Aloha Jayne. And she immediately said, "Oh, I know Aloha Jayne!" Which means she would have had to visited and remembered me from my facebook page. My reputation precedes me!
Anyway, this was my first time to meet someone IRL as Jayne.:)
