Hi ladies:

On this forum I've become used to associating users with their (previously unique)? Avatar, and I now see a multitude of users using the same avatar as an existing user. While I use my own, I realize many can not for privacy reasons, but would hope new users wouldn't use the same avatar as one being currently used.....

Am I wrong here? Is there a CD avatar art site that has, what, 5 jpegs to choose from?

Lets get a bit more creative and allow previous avatar users to hold on to their "intellectual property" to alleviate confusion....

I see a set of red lips, and think its Ms. Arlene, but no....

I guess I am easily confused, but come on, lets get creative ladies!

Looks like there are over 100 avatars to choose from at http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/profile.php?do=editavatar but only 73 are girl avatars.

There are lots of active members, but way more inactive ones, so I guess that strains resources.

Maybe we need to use a setup like GaiaOnline and others, where members construct their own avatars using several templates but with many clothing options etc.

I think I might change mine to a picture of Ursula Undress in a bikini. :)

Jamie, what is happening is members are picking from the available avatars from this site. When you go in and select avatar and don't upload your own picture, there is a set of avatars available. It would be impossible for someone, especially a new member, to know whether the avatar is already in use.

I usually take a look at the avatar rather than the user name, so I know how you feel.

I'm concerned about privacy, that's why my avatar is cropped. also you can always use a drawing.

Well, it's a very nice left-eye shot Saffron.

I initially used a stock avatar and then just decided to hell with it, here's my face and in the words attributed to Oliver Cromwell, "....warts and all". Some confusion with over used avatars but I look for the names these days.

At least no-one will want to use my old 'boat race' for their own avatar :heehee:

For me the avatar conveys a bit of my perceived personality and friendliness of the person posting.
My present avatar for instance does not convey any friendliness or personality.
It is just an identifier.
Wait till I change it to Ursula Undress. :)

I tend to change my avatar sometimes not thinking that it reduced recognition among members as I take more pictures and choose one that has good memories. Coincidentally, I changed my photo tonight to this one taken as I was heading out of my hotel to go to the casino in Sydney. A terrific time with great acceptance from those on the tables.

I've changed mine a time or two as well. It doesn't seem to be uncommon to change them when they are photos.
