If you had a choice at birth which body you would get male or female what would you choose?

I want to be born as a female.
I want to be born as a male.

easy....... female.

But I'm like this for a reason - I think. (The most eliquently put piece of philosophy I've ever written ;) But then, I have just crawled out of bed.)

Female. No doubt at all.

I'd rather have been born female.
I'm happy being a crossdressing male, but given this hypothetical choice I'd pick female.
I'm looking forward to seeing replies from any of the girls who choose the male option and their reasons for doing so.

Gee! What a shock! You have an 94.7% female response....from this audience! Never mind the fact that "at birth" one has (allegeldy) no experience of either gender, so you would be deciding on something that you have no knowledge of. But since I'm knit-picking, I'll bite. Yes, often I wish I had been born female, but the grass is always greener, they say. Too bad the choice can't come when we're old enough to make an informed decision. I wonder if the world was really that way, would we still have a 50/50 split on our gender barrier? Just thinking out loud.

If I know want the world was like and I could pick my own gender before birth I would of wanted to be female. But I couldn't, so I will have to make the best of want I am.

Female, but it's still definitely a Man's World whatever the feminist lobby may have obtained in the way of anti discrimination Laws etc.

Well yes if and when i did have a real choice at birth then Female. I am not very happy now with the way it has turned out. In this lifetime as a male once again. I was really suppose to have been female this time around. Since it has been so long having been one and i am most happy being female over male If and when i could alter this male body to that way i sure would right away. I really do want to be a girl. it is just oh so much better for me to be female. Suzy!.

I would have wanted to be a female of average height. All the real nice clothes are made for small women (size 14 and under) not for a 6'1" 245 lb male, damn.:(

Agian Marla makes a good point. Having the experience of this life, i would choose female, born here in the USA. so much of our perspective is based on how women our viewed here where we live. By the Grace of God, I was born an American. There are not many places on earth, except the western civilizations, where we could even have this discussion. OK of topic I know!

If I could choose intersexed, that would be cool. To have both? To have all that choice? I know from reading and such that these peoples lives aren't easy either. But, the choice of choice is really profound!

Female, definitely. I am at a point in my life where I am trying to decide whether I want to remain a male, though. I have so much experience being brought up as male that I wonder if my desire to be female is really worth the bother to transition. I just don't know yet. It's hard to tell because my female desires were repressed for so long, and there may be more to yet emerge.

I hate to put a spin on this thread but this thread is screaming in my face...

INTERSEX

Maybe first I should answer the question... if I could choose my gender at birth (a choice I would not make and I am trying to make which is the hardest decision I will ever have to make, ever) I could not choose. In order to choose a gender you have to almost live as both or understand what it means to be both, most people 99.999% of the population do not have to chance... I do and it is very scary. Many doctors have to make this choice in the country, it is said that 1:40000 and the number could be higher individuals born in this country are ambigious, having one of many intersex conditions. Could you choose at birth? What about parents, could they choose?

Making this decision as I said before is a matter of life and death, plain and simple, if I don't choose I will eventually die (within 5 years or so the doctors think), or end up in a wheelchair at best. Certainly makes you think about life and what it means to be either gender. I am a little scared to become a girl although after living in a sexless state for years it seems like the best option... I am XX and XY, both live within me so genetically sure you could say I am a girl... I feel that way... and it is finally coming out.

To answer the question, knowing what I know now (and only now I could make this decision) I could have wished to be born a distinct gender, either male or female. I can not say that I would perfer to be male or female, that is a choice for God and I would respect that choice. Each gender has pitfalls, etc. I am not saying though it is wrong to want to be female or male, I see many parents who try and force the sex of their baby.

We live on a gender spectra, many females are not very feminine. I can not step into each of your minds but let me say being a woman is not all that you see on the outside... to be honest life as a guy is a bit easier... I just can not deal with all the other problems (my perception) that testosterone does to your body.

Like the thread... is it against God to want to be a woman, I don't know the answer but I am not in your place either... and I will not debate that here. Just realize that we are who we are and man or woman are just another label placed on us by society.

Love, Mandy

I think I would still like to be a cross dressing male. Maybe a little smaller build would be nice.

If I had a choice I would have wanted to be born a female and if other options available with very feminine drop dead good looks too. Perhaps being a petite or at least shorter than I am would be nice to be able to fit in all the beautiful clothing available eg a cute tini bikini and to be able to wear high heels without looking like a amazonian towering over other people. Some things would be oh so wonderful, smoother skin with hardly any body hair if any, being able to have long hair over the shoulders and oh so much more (sigh). I can dream and I do.

In hind site....

Male.

Because I am one so I know how they tick. And let's face it....life is actually easier. Take all your hang ups and short comings and pin them on a woman and they would have a worse time of it whether you are short fat hairy scared nervous weird or want to climb Everest.

But it would have been nice if there was some sort of middle ground to be able to express all the bits that got buried when you are declared "boy". If they hadn't been buried maybe I wouldn't feel the need to express them so obtusely and forcefully now. It would have been NICE to wear a pretty dress when I wanted to.

I would also be born a crossdressing male. The only thin that I would change would be that I would have told my wife before we got married. I am sure that she would have accepted it better then.

Happy as the Lord made me (a androgyny male), I even looked like a girl as a little baby, so I guess I was born a CD male.

Well it's no surprise that from our perspective the larger percentage of us would prefer being born female. But imagine if you could, never having had the experience of dressing, nor the desire, then what would you pick?

I really have to get in on this one.....I think it would be male but have the looks and features to dress as a female whenever I wished. I wouldn't want to think about the periods and the hastle......I would like the aspect of dressing either sex that I wanted to. Crossdressing is a "novelty" and to be born female somehow would take that "novelty" away......

Well, I said female. I think born into it would be good, trying to transition and be all that now would not work ... to many male years. But it is compelling to want to be female and still be me! Probably would not work though ........ hmmmmmmmmmmm ..... life is such a conundrum!
